How statement and proof provenance work
The first chip identifies the source of the statement or construction; the second identifies the source of its local proof or verification.
- Literature-sourced: the exact statement appears in a cited source; only wording and notation differ.
- AI-adapted: a semantically identical restatement of literature-sourced material, modulo indexing, notation, and boundary cases adopted by the library.
- AI-generated: a genuinely novel statement formulated by AI, with no source for the claim itself.
These labels describe origin, not correctness: citations and verification chips remain separate evidence.
Ideal clocks on a prescribed Lorentzian background
Adopted classical test-particle framework on a prescribed smooth time-oriented Lorentzian four-manifold; the curved-background clock reading convention extends the flat ideal-clock postulate and is not an empirical accuracy claim.
Postulate
Adopted convention. On a prescribed background from Particle spacetime, observers and worldlines, let , , be a continuous piecewise- future timelike curve in the sense of Timelike worldlines, proper time, length and four-velocity on a Lorentzian four-manifold: it has a finite partition , each segment is up to its endpoints with future timelike one-sided tangents there, and the two tangents at a corner need not agree. If denotes its parameter and on the th segment, an ideal clock carried along it records the increment
The increment is independent of the admissible finite partition, by additivity of the integral, and is additive across corners. On each smooth segment this is the proper-time parameter with . The flat-spacetime specialization is inherited from Adopted ideal-clock and ideal-vacuum-light interpretation; extending that convention to the curved prescribed background is a separate adoption of this framework.
When the parameter is measured in seconds, is in metres, is in metres per second, and is in seconds. This is a model postulate, not a theorem or a reported measurement. It does not assert that a physical clock realizes the idealization exactly, that the background solves gravitational field equations, or that the test body affects the background.
