How statement and proof provenance work

The first chip identifies the source of the statement or construction; the second identifies the source of its local proof or verification.

  • Literature-sourced: the exact statement appears in a cited source; only wording and notation differ.
  • AI-adapted: a semantically identical restatement of literature-sourced material, modulo indexing, notation, and boundary cases adopted by the library.
  • AI-generated: a genuinely novel statement formulated by AI, with no source for the claim itself.

These labels describe origin, not correctness: citations and verification chips remain separate evidence.

Finite regulated Newtonian gravitational canonical preparation

Physical scope

Finite N≥2, bounded measurable positive-volume confining region, equal classical masses, fixed positive softening length and inverse-energy parameter; effective Newtonian weak-field/slow-motion model only, with no thermalization or dynamical stability claim.

Postulate

Work in SI units. Adopt positive Newton constant G in m3 kg−1 s−2, common particle mass m in kg, positions qi in m, momenta pi in kg m s−1, energy H in joules, Boltzmann constant kB in J K−1, and inverse-energy parameter β>0 in J−1. Fix an action reference h∗>0 in J s; it is a phase-counting convention, not an assertion that h∗ equals Planck's constant. These conventions follow Thermodynamics-GR fields, currents, reference normalization and units and Finite gravitational phase and entropy reference.

For an integer N≥2, take a bounded measurable confining region B⊂R3 with 0<∣B∣<∞ and adopt the ordered phase space ΓN=BN×R3N and identical-particle reference measure dνN=d3Nq d3Np/(N!h∗3N) of Finite gravitational phase and entropy reference. Fix a softening length a>0 in metres and adopt the Hamiltonian HN,a(q,p)=∑i=1N∣pi∣22m−∑1≤i<j≤NGm2∣qi−qj∣2+a2, which is the model defined in Finite softened gravitational Hamiltonian and domain. The preparation assigns canonical weight e−βHN,a relative to νN. Its normalizer is ZB(β):=∫BN×R3Ne−βHN,adνN. To check finiteness for this general region, enclose B in a bounded cube Q and apply Finite gravitational Gibbs normalization and differentiable moments on Q with the same parameters and Hamiltonian formula. Restriction of its nonnegative integral gives ZB≤ZQ<∞. Moreover, the integrand is strictly positive everywhere, and BN times any positive-volume bounded momentum cube has positive measure, so ZB>0. Thus the density pβ=ZB−1e−βHN,a is normalized. These are mathematical consequences of the specified weight, not proofs of the physical preparation. For box instances, the further variational and response conclusions are stated in Constructed finite canonical gravitational equilibrium. Confinement specifies the finite position region; no wall regularity or wall dynamics is used in this calculation.

Within this formulation, N,m,G,a,B,h∗ and β are fixed model/preparation inputs. The displayed HN,a is the defined effective Hamiltonian; ZN, the normalized density, mean energy, entropy and response are derived mathematical quantities. Their definition does not make them universal properties of gravitating matter.

This is an adopted effective Newtonian statistical model in a stated weak-field, slow-motion regime. The unbounded momentum domain is part of the canonical mathematical preparation and does not give a uniform speed bound on every point in its support. The postulate asserts neither dynamical equilibration, an observed gravitating gas, nor stability of a self-consistently gravitating relativistic solution.
