RemarkRemark: AI-adaptedProof: Not applicable
How statement and proof provenance work

The first chip identifies the source of the statement or construction; the second identifies the source of its local proof or verification.

  • Literature-sourced: the exact statement appears in a cited source; only wording and notation differ.
  • AI-adapted: a semantically identical restatement of literature-sourced material, modulo indexing, notation, and boundary cases adopted by the library.
  • AI-generated: a genuinely novel statement formulated by AI, with no source for the claim itself.

These labels describe origin, not correctness: citations and verification chips remain separate evidence.

Assumption classes and scope of the framework: P1-P7, the extension postulates and what is excluded

Physical scope

A scoped audit of the framework's assumption classes: the seven core postulates adopted on this page, the further model postulates adopted only on the pages that name them, and the exclusion list of the framework. The remark records status and scope; it proves nothing, asserts no empirical result, and claims no completeness beyond its stated list.

Assumption classes of the framework

This remark audits the assumption classes of the framework as stated on this page, and the deliberate boundary between them. It is bookkeeping of status and scope; it proves nothing and asserts no empirical result.

Adopted here: the core postulates P1-P7. The framework of this category starts from the seven adopted assumptions of this page, each stated in complete scoped form at its own item.

  1. P1, the state and composition postulate State and composition postulate P1: Hilbert spaces, preparations and composite systems: nonzero separable complex Hilbert spaces, unit rays and density operators as preparations, statistical mixtures, and composition by the completed tensor product.
  2. P2, the observable and probability postulate Observable and probability postulate P2: self-adjoint observables, spectral probability and finite unsharp outcomes: sharp observables as self-adjoint operators with declared units, their spectral probability measures, finite-resolution bins, and finite unsharp outcome families.
  3. P3, the ideal conditional-measurement postulate Ideal conditional measurement postulate P3: the projective Lueders update and discarded outcomes: the declared projective Lueders measurement, its outcome probabilities, its conditional update and its discarded-outcome ensemble.
  4. P4, the autonomous-dynamics postulate Autonomous dynamics postulate P4: self-adjoint generators and unitary evolution: the self-adjoint energy operator, unitary evolution generated by it, the Schroedinger equation on the operator domain, and the exclusion of driven and open-system evolution from the present assumptions.
  5. P5, the kinematics and massive-particle model postulate Kinematics and massive-particle model postulate P5: Newtonian frames and one-particle operators: the Newtonian arena The Newtonian spacetime arena of the framework, the inertial frames Inertial frames of the framework and the class of frame changes, the apparatus trajectories Classical apparatus and preparation trajectories of the framework, and the one-particle operators with the bounded-potential Hamiltonian.
  6. P6, the identical-particle and spin assignments Identical-particle and spin assignments P6: permutation sectors and finite-spin representations: permutation sectors for declared species and finite-spin representations, with species parameters as empirical inputs.
  7. P7, the preparation and apparatus postulate Preparation and apparatus postulate P7: declared preparations, isolation and sampling assumptions: declared preparation, isolation, detection and sampling models, and the qualified status of apparatus identifications and measured inputs.

Not adopted here: the extension postulates. The framework also names, on the pages that introduce them, further model postulates that are deliberately not part of P1-P7 and are not adopted by this page:

  • P5a, prescribed external electromagnetic coupling: a bounded-coefficient minimal-coupling Hamiltonian with prescribed static potentials for a charged particle in a named inertial frame, adopted only where that model is used; its gauge and domain statements belong to the page that adopts it.
  • P6a, effective magnetic-moment coupling: a finite-spin magnetic moment with a declared gyromagnetic parameter in a specified bounded field profile, adopted only where that model is used; it is not a consequence of the spin representation.
  • R1-R3, radiation and light-matter extensions: a fixed-mode transverse polarization model, quantized transverse radiation modes with the dispersion and energy assignments of a chosen inertial frame, and a finite-level dipole coupling in a declared long-wavelength regime; these are adopted only on the radiation and light-matter pages that name them.
  • R3a, finite-level electric-dipole coupling: the compressed dipole operator and its field interaction in the stated approximation, adopted with the driven-dynamics models that use it.

None of these extensions follows from P1-P7, and none is used by the items of this page. Their status on their own pages is the same as that of P1-P7 here: adopted model assumptions with declared scope, not theorems and not empirical findings.

Excluded from the framework. The following are outside the scope of this category and are not hidden in the core assumptions: relativistic matter and Lorentz-covariant particle dynamics; antiparticles, pair creation and annihilation; quantum field theory and quantum electrodynamics with their local field dynamics; quantum gravity and any coupling of quantum matter to spacetime curvature; quantum circuits, quantum computing and algorithms; and any claim that the framework's postulates are derived from experiment or from a deeper theory. Radiation and external-field models appear only through the explicitly adopted extensions above, never as a limit of the massive model of P5.

Status of the quantity conventions. The dimension and unit conventions of Dimensions, SI unit conventions and quantity types of the framework are conventions of the framework, not postulates about nature; measured constants enter through the empirical premises of P7. The postulate count depends on how assumptions are packaged: the list above distinguishes the core P1-P7 from the extensions, but an alternative packaging that combines or splits clauses would not change the model content.

No completeness claim. This list is complete for the declared core of this page and its named extensions, and for nothing else. It makes no claim about apparatuses, systems or regimes outside the stated scope, and it records no measured observation.

Remarks

  • The distinction between adopted assumptions and derived statements is a standing obligation of the category: each later item records which of its hypotheses are adopted model assumptions, which are mathematical hypotheses and which are qualified empirical premises.
  • The three definitions of this page record objects, not assumptions: the Newtonian arena, the inertial frames and the apparatus trajectories have mathematical content independently of their adoption, and the adoption clauses are the postulates listed above.
