How statement and proof provenance work
The first chip identifies the source of the statement or construction; the second identifies the source of its local proof or verification.
- Literature-sourced: the exact statement appears in a cited source; only wording and notation differ.
- AI-adapted: a semantically identical restatement of literature-sourced material, modulo indexing, notation, and boundary cases adopted by the library.
- AI-generated: a genuinely novel statement formulated by AI, with no source for the claim itself.
These labels describe origin, not correctness: citations and verification chips remain separate evidence.

Facts & Assumptions
Given: A right-maximal solution on ; continuous ; constants with ; the initial bound ; the stated improvement implication on every compact subinterval; and the specified continuation criterion and margin functions.
A quantitative continuation and bootstrap contract: on each finite , implies ; a finite maximal endpoint extends if for every and all listed margins stay above their thresholds.
Greatest lower bound (infimum): means that is a lower bound of and is at least every other lower bound.
Every nonempty set bounded below has an infimum: every nonempty real set bounded below has an infimum; the proof derives this from the complete ordered field structure and uses no choice axiom.
Proof
Fix a finite and let . If is nonempty, [F3] gives . Since is a lower bound and every element of is at most , [F2] gives ; continuity and then give . Since is a lower bound, for every . If , continuity would put points just below in , contradicting that it is a lower bound; hence . If , nonemptiness and force , so equality holds. If and , continuity gives such that on ; no point of lies below or in this neighborhood, so is a larger lower bound, contradicting [F2]. Thus in either case . The improvement in [F1] on gives , a contradiction. Hence .
Since , on . Applying [F1] gives on . The choice of finite was arbitrary, so this bound holds throughout the maximal interval.
If and the margins persist, step 2.1 gives for every . The continuation criterion in [F1] then extends the solution past , contradicting maximality. Therefore .
Remarks
The continuity proof uses only the real infimum property and the stated implication; it uses no choice principle. Applying it to the fixed general-relativity solution class still requires the exact hypotheses of Finite-slab stability in a fixed hyperbolic gauge, including that supplier's Countable Choice and Dependent Choice assumptions. No PDE decay, null-structure estimate, optical function, trapped-ray estimate, gauge control, or final-parameter modulation is proved here.
