How statement and proof provenance work
The first chip identifies the source of the statement or construction; the second identifies the source of its local proof or verification.
- Literature-sourced: the exact statement appears in a cited source; only wording and notation differ.
- AI-adapted: a semantically identical restatement of literature-sourced material, modulo indexing, notation, and boundary cases adopted by the library.
- AI-generated: a genuinely novel statement formulated by AI, with no source for the claim itself.
These labels describe origin, not correctness: citations and verification chips remain separate evidence.

Statement
Assume the Axiom of Choice. Let , let be a real vector space of dimension , and let be bilinear and alternating, meaning for every , and nondegenerate, meaning that for every implies . Let , and let be a complex Hilbert space. A unitary operator on means a bijective complex-linear isometry. Suppose satisfies and
is regular in the sense that is norm-continuous for every and , and is irreducible in the sense that its only closed subspaces satisfying for every are and . Choose a symplectic basis identifying with and . Then is unitarily equivalent, meaning that there is a unitary map intertwining the two Weyl actions, to the Schrödinger system
on . Consequently, there is exactly one unitary-equivalence class of nonzero irreducible regular Weyl systems with this fixed finite-dimensional phase space and parameter. No conclusion is asserted for infinite-dimensional phase spaces, nonregular systems, or zero central parameter.

Facts & Assumptions
Given: The Axiom of Choice; a finite-dimensional real symplectic vector space ; a nonzero real parameter ; and a nonzero irreducible regular Weyl system with the displayed multiplication law.
The Axiom of Choice (AC) states that every family of nonempty sets has a choice function. The Axiom of Choice
The imported finite-dimensional Stone–von Neumann theorem assumes AC, finite-dimensional real symplectic phase space of dimension , nonzero central parameter, and a nonzero irreducible regular Weyl system with multiplication law ; it concludes unitary equivalence to the Schrödinger system and uniqueness of the equivalence class. Stone–von Neumann uniqueness for finite-dimensional regular Weyl systems
Proof
The stated has exactly the nonzero-space, fixed-parameter, Weyl multiplication, regularity, and irreducibility hypotheses in [F1], and [A1] supplies its choice assumption. Applying [F1] gives a unitary intertwiner from to the Schrödinger Weyl system.
If and satisfy the same hypotheses, step 1.1 gives unitaries and intertwining each with the same Schrödinger system. The composite is unitary and intertwines with , so the equivalence class is unique.
