How statement and proof provenance work

The first chip identifies the source of the statement or construction; the second identifies the source of its local proof or verification.

  • Literature-sourced: the exact statement appears in a cited source; only wording and notation differ.
  • AI-adapted: a semantically identical restatement of literature-sourced material, modulo indexing, notation, and boundary cases adopted by the library.
  • AI-generated: a genuinely novel statement formulated by AI, with no source for the claim itself.

These labels describe origin, not correctness: citations and verification chips remain separate evidence.

Explore-then-commit for a finite stochastic bandit

Definition

Input integers k,n,m≥1 with mk≤n, and access to an n-round k-armed stochastic bandit. The output is the sequence of selected arms A1,…,An and the committed arm J.

  1. For rounds t=1,…,mk, choose arm At=1+((t−1) mod k) and observe its reward Yt. Thus each arm is explored exactly m times.
  2. For each i∈[k], form its exploration mean μ^i=1m∑r=1mY(r−1)k+i.
  3. Let J be the least index attaining max⁡i∈[k]μ^i.
  4. For every remaining round t=mk+1,…,n, choose At=J and observe its reward.

Dependency tree · two levels

10 results within two dependency steps of this one, each drawn at its shortest distance from it. An arrow runs from a result to what uses it, so the chart reads left to right and ends at this result, which carries a heavier outline. Every node is a link to that result.
