How statement and proof provenance work
The first chip identifies the source of the statement or construction; the second identifies the source of its local proof or verification.
- Literature-sourced: the exact statement appears in a cited source; only wording and notation differ.
- AI-adapted: a semantically identical restatement of literature-sourced material, modulo indexing, notation, and boundary cases adopted by the library.
- AI-generated: a genuinely novel statement formulated by AI, with no source for the claim itself.
These labels describe origin, not correctness: citations and verification chips remain separate evidence.
The rank-one tensor action of the two-strand Hecke algebra is not faithful
Statement refuted
For every and , the normalized type-A Hecke algebra acts faithfully on through the ordered-basis Hecke operator.
Facts & Assumptions
Given: , the type-A Hecke algebra with quadratic relation , and the tensor-power action defined from the ordered-basis operator.
The generic Hecke algebra has standard basis , and this basis remains a basis after base change (The standard basis of the generic Hecke algebra and base change).
The type-A Hecke algebra is the specialization of the universal Coxeter Hecke presentation at common parameter (Universal parameters, the generic Coxeter Hecke algebra and generator conjugacy).
Sending to the ordered-basis operator on positions defines an algebra action on every tensor power (The ordered-basis symmetry gives the normalized Hecke tensor action).
On equal labels the ordered-basis operator is (The ordered-basis Hecke operator and its normalization).
Counterexample
Given: Take , , , and the Hecke action on .
In type the Coxeter presentation has one generator with , so every word reduces to or ; the map to the two-element group is well-defined and nontrivial, so these are distinct and the Coxeter group has exactly two elements. Thus [F1]–[F2] give the -basis of . By [F3]–[F4], acts on the one-dimensional tensor square by ; hence lies in the kernel of .
In the basis , the element has coefficients , which are not both zero in . Thus it is a nonzero element of mapped to zero, so is not injective and the universal faithfulness statement is false.

19 results within two dependency steps of this one, each drawn at its shortest distance from it. An arrow runs from a result to what uses it, so the chart reads left to right and ends at this result, which carries a heavier outline. Every node is a link to that result.
