How statement and proof provenance work
The first chip identifies the source of the statement or construction; the second identifies the source of its local proof or verification.
- Literature-sourced: the exact statement appears in a cited source; only wording and notation differ.
- AI-adapted: a semantically identical restatement of literature-sourced material, modulo indexing, notation, and boundary cases adopted by the library.
- AI-generated: a genuinely novel statement formulated by AI, with no source for the claim itself.
These labels describe origin, not correctness: citations and verification chips remain separate evidence.
The ordered-basis symmetry gives the normalized Hecke tensor action
Statement
Let , , and . Let be the type-A Hecke algebra generated by with braid relations and ; put . On define by applying the operator of The ordered-basis Hecke operator and its normalization in positions . There is a unital algebra homomorphism with . Its matrices are regular at , where is the transposition of tensor positions . This is an action into an endomorphism algebra; it makes no assertion that is injective.
Facts & Assumptions
Given: , , , and the normalized type-A Hecke presentation.
The presentation of is the specialization of the universal Coxeter Hecke presentation in Universal parameters, the generic Coxeter Hecke algebra and generator conjugacy with type and common parameter .
The universal presentation has the usual quotient universal property; The standard basis of the generic Hecke algebra and base change proves its standard basis and its base-change compatibility.
The operator of The ordered-basis operator is a Hecke symmetry satisfies the quadratic and braid relations, and at it is the flip.
Proof
Given: The data in [F1]–[F3].
For , each satisfies by [F3]. Adjacent operators satisfy the braid relation because, on the three positions they meet, this is exactly the identity proved in [F3]; tensoring with identities on the other positions preserves that equality. If , then and act on disjoint tensor factors, so on every elementary tensor each changes only its own pair and the two orders of application give the same tensor and coefficient. Thus the family satisfies every defining relation in [F1].
By the quotient universal property in [F2], the assignment extends uniquely to a unital -algebra homomorphism . For the algebra and endomorphism image are the scalar algebra and the unique unital map supplies the same conclusion. Each matrix entry of every is a Laurent polynomial in , so it is regular at ; [F3] identifies the specialized operators as adjacent flips. The standard-basis theorem in [F2] concerns the abstract algebra and does not identify it with its image under .

An arrow runs from a result to what uses it, so the chart reads left to right and ends at this result, which carries a heavier outline. Every node is a link to that result.
