How statement and proof provenance work
The first chip identifies the source of the statement or construction; the second identifies the source of its local proof or verification.
- Literature-sourced: the exact statement appears in a cited source; only wording and notation differ.
- AI-adapted: a semantically identical restatement of literature-sourced material, modulo indexing, notation, and boundary cases adopted by the library.
- AI-generated: a genuinely novel statement formulated by AI, with no source for the claim itself.
These labels describe origin, not correctness: citations and verification chips remain separate evidence.
The Soergel functor is not fully faithful on all category-O objects
Statement refuted
Assume the inherited Axiom of Choice. In the regular integral block at (so and ), the functor is fully faithful on every object of the block, i.e. is a bijection for all objects . This is false.
Facts & Assumptions
Given: The ground field is . The Axiom of Choice inherited from the published category- suppliers, the regular integral block at of The regular integral block and its antidominant weight, and the Soergel functor of The antidominant projective and the Soergel functor with .
In the block, and ; the Verma is simple and there is a nonsplit sequence with one-dimensional and infinite-dimensional; the projective cover has head and Verma flag , once each (Verma modules, The simple objects of O, BGG reciprocity, Wall-crossing acts on standard modules by a two-step extension, Wall-crossing compositions produce the projective with the top standard label).
is exact with , , and values , , , , ; in particular (The endomorphisms of the antidominant projective form the coinvariant algebra, The antidominant projective and the Soergel functor).
A homomorphism carries the cyclic highest-weight vector of weight into the weight- part of , which is zero because the weights of are ; hence (Verma modules, The simple objects of O).
Counterexample
Exactness of applied to gives , that is , so , and ; also has indecomposable head so and .
Non-faithfulness: is a nonzero object with one-dimensional endomorphism ring, and is a nonzero element of , while forces its image in to be zero; so is not faithful.
Failure of fullness: while and , so the induced map between these Hom spaces is the zero map on a nonzero target and is not surjective.
The two failures use a nonprojective target: is nonprojective because the nonsplit surjection would otherwise split, and is nonprojective because the nonsplit surjection would otherwise split, with indecomposable; hence they do not contradict the Struktursatz Soergel's Struktursatz: the functor V is fully faithful on projectives, whose target hypothesis is exactly that be projective (the source may be arbitrary), and they do not refute the separate assertion of faithfulness on the quotient by the -killed Serre subcategory, since is precisely an object killed by .
