How statement and proof provenance work
The first chip identifies the source of the statement or construction; the second identifies the source of its local proof or verification.
- Literature-sourced: the exact statement appears in a cited source; only wording and notation differ.
- AI-adapted: a semantically identical restatement of literature-sourced material, modulo indexing, notation, and boundary cases adopted by the library.
- AI-generated: a genuinely novel statement formulated by AI, with no source for the claim itself.
These labels describe origin, not correctness: citations and verification chips remain separate evidence.
Even-power expansion of trapezoid levels with a uniform remainder
Statement
Let , let with , and let . For every integer , set , , and using the Bernoulli numbers of Bernoulli polynomials by a normalized coefficient recursion. Then where the level-independent finite constant does not depend on . Thus the remainder bound is uniform over every set of dyadic levels.
Facts & Assumptions
Given: , an integer , , and an integer trapezoid panel count .
Finite Euler–Maclaurin formula for the composite trapezoid: for every , the composite trapezoid equals the integral, the first endpoint Bernoulli corrections, and a remainder bounded by .
Higher derivatives and the classes and : supplies all continuous endpoint derivatives through order .
Composite trapezoidal rule: uses the uniform mesh of width .
For a nonempty subset of with , compactness, closedness and boundedness, pseudocompactness, and attainment of extrema by every continuous real-valued function are equivalent: continuous real functions on the compact interval are bounded and attain finite extrema.
Proof
Apply [F1] with . The formula has the displayed coefficients and a remainder satisfying .
By [F2] and [F4], each derivative norm in and is finite; the Bernoulli maximum exists by the Euler–Maclaurin theorem's construction. Put . The triangle inequality gives . Every term in depends only on , not on , so this is the claimed uniform remainder.

An arrow runs from a result to what uses it, so the chart reads left to right and ends at this result, which carries a heavier outline. Every node is a link to that result.
