How statement and proof provenance work

The first chip identifies the source of the statement or construction; the second identifies the source of its local proof or verification.

  • Literature-sourced: the exact statement appears in a cited source; only wording and notation differ.
  • AI-adapted: a semantically identical restatement of literature-sourced material, modulo indexing, notation, and boundary cases adopted by the library.
  • AI-generated: a genuinely novel statement formulated by AI, with no source for the claim itself.

These labels describe origin, not correctness: citations and verification chips remain separate evidence.

Elimination-tree column patterns and reach

Definition

Let A∈Cn×n satisfy A=A∗, use the Hermitian structural graph of Undirected structural graph of a Hermitian matrix, and fix an elimination ordering π=(v0,…,vn−1) of its vertices. For this chosen ordering, construct the filled graphs, parent map, and elimination forest by Structural graphs and ordered symmetric elimination. All column sets, counts, ancestors, descendants, and reaches below are relative to π. For each k, let Nk(vk) be the later-neighbor set at elimination of vk, and define its structural column set Ck={vk}∪Nk(vk). Its off-diagonal size is the column count ℓk=∣Nk(vk)∣. An ancestor of vk is obtained by following one or more supplied parent edges; a descendant is the inverse relation. The reach of vk is the set of vertices visited by following its parent path, including vk.

Dependency tree · two levels

4 results within two dependency steps of this one, each drawn at its shortest distance from it. An arrow runs from a result to what uses it, so the chart reads left to right and ends at this result, which carries a heavier outline. Every node is a link to that result.
