How statement and proof provenance work

The first chip identifies the source of the statement or construction; the second identifies the source of its local proof or verification.

  • Literature-sourced: the exact statement appears in a cited source; only wording and notation differ.
  • AI-adapted: a semantically identical restatement of literature-sourced material, modulo indexing, notation, and boundary cases adopted by the library.
  • AI-generated: a genuinely novel statement formulated by AI, with no source for the claim itself.

These labels describe origin, not correctness: citations and verification chips remain separate evidence.

Fusion 2-category

Definition

A fusion 2-category is a finite semisimple linear 2-category with a weak monoidal structure, a simple monoidal unit, and left and right duals for every object. For a right dual A# of A, the duality data include 1-morphisms eA:A⊗A#→I,iA:I→A#⊗A, and invertible cusp 2-morphisms from (eA⊗A)∘(A⊗iA) to 1A and from (A#⊗eA)∘(iA⊗A#) to 1A#, with the associator and unitors inserted at the indicated sources and targets.

For a left dual #A of A, the data separately include 1-morphisms eAℓ:#A⊗A→I,iAℓ:I→A⊗#A, and invertible cusp 2-morphisms from (A⊗eAℓ)∘(iAℓ⊗A) to 1A and from (eAℓ⊗#A)∘(#A⊗iAℓ) to 1#A. The associator and unitors are inserted at these sources and targets as well. No identification of the chosen left and right duals is required.

Here “simple unit” means that 1I is a simple 1-morphism. A pivotal or spherical enhancement is extra structure: it requires its own duality coherence and trace axioms. Neither such enhancement nor a spherical trace is included in “fusion 2-category.”

8 results within two dependency steps of this one, each drawn at its shortest distance from it. An arrow runs from a result to what uses it, so the chart reads left to right and ends at this result, which carries a heavier outline. Every node is a link to that result.
