How statement and proof provenance work
The first chip identifies the source of the statement or construction; the second identifies the source of its local proof or verification.
- Literature-sourced: the exact statement appears in a cited source; only wording and notation differ.
- AI-adapted: a semantically identical restatement of literature-sourced material, modulo indexing, notation, and boundary cases adopted by the library.
- AI-generated: a genuinely novel statement formulated by AI, with no source for the claim itself.
These labels describe origin, not correctness: citations and verification chips remain separate evidence.
Locally flat PL knot concordance
Definition
Use the standard PL three-sphere given by the boundary of a fixed PL four-simplex and the product PL structure on . A PL map is a map that is affine on every simplex after finite subdivisions of triangulated domain and target. An oriented PL knot is the image of a PL embedding of an oriented triangulated circle into this PL three-sphere. Two such knots are PL concordant when a PL embedding of a triangulated annulus into has them as its lower and upper boundary circles with boundary orientation , and the embedding is proper, locally flat in the PL category, and has PL product collars agreeing with the ambient end products: for some , its image near the lower end is and near the upper end is . PL local-flatness means that each interior pair chart is PL-homeomorphic to and each boundary pair chart is PL-homeomorphic to . Annuli with cone singularities or other non-locally-flat points are excluded. This definition makes no assertion identifying PL concordance with smooth or locally flat topological concordance.

Dependency tree · two levels
7 results within two dependency steps of this one, each drawn at its shortest distance from it. An arrow runs from a result to what uses it, so the chart reads left to right and ends at this result, which carries a heavier outline. Every node is a link to that result.
