How statement and proof provenance work

The first chip identifies the source of the statement or construction; the second identifies the source of its local proof or verification.

  • Literature-sourced: the exact statement appears in a cited source; only wording and notation differ.
  • AI-adapted: a semantically identical restatement of literature-sourced material, modulo indexing, notation, and boundary cases adopted by the library.
  • AI-generated: a genuinely novel statement formulated by AI, with no source for the claim itself.

These labels describe origin, not correctness: citations and verification chips remain separate evidence.

Effective Unitary Matrix Input

Definition

A finite gate alphabet is a finite list of distinct labels, each assigned one exact matrix in SU(2):={M∈M2(C):M∗M=I2,det⁡M=1}. A Cauchy name for a target U∈SU(2) is a deterministic procedure which, on unary input 1b, returns a rational 2×2 complex matrix Qb whose real and imaginary entries differ from the corresponding entries of U by at most 2−b. The name has a stated time bound T(b). A precision request is a positive rational ε∈(0,1/2) in binary, using the effective encoding convention of Effective binary encodings and total decoders.

The Cauchy name specifies the exact target through all its approximants; an individual Qb need not be unitary. An exact-real target handle and a Cauchy-name input are distinct interfaces: the first permits ideal exact comparisons, while a finite Turing implementation must use the second.

4 results within two dependency steps of this one, each drawn at its shortest distance from it. An arrow runs from a result to what uses it, so the chart reads left to right and ends at this result, which carries a heavier outline. Every node is a link to that result.
