How statement and proof provenance work

The first chip identifies the source of the statement or construction; the second identifies the source of its local proof or verification.

  • Literature-sourced: the exact statement appears in a cited source; only wording and notation differ.
  • AI-adapted: a semantically identical restatement of literature-sourced material, modulo indexing, notation, and boundary cases adopted by the library.
  • AI-generated: a genuinely novel statement formulated by AI, with no source for the claim itself.

These labels describe origin, not correctness: citations and verification chips remain separate evidence.

Restricted eigenvalue condition on the Lasso cone

Definition

Let n,d≥1, 1≤s≤d, and X∈Rn×d. For S⊆{1,…,d}, let vS be the vector agreeing with v∈Rd on S and equal to zero off S; write ∥v∥1=∑j∣vj∣ and use the Euclidean norm ∥⋅∥2 of Euclidean spheres and closed balls as subspaces of Rn. The cone associated to S is C(S)={v∈Rd:∥vSc∥1≤3∥vS∥1}. The design satisfies the restricted eigenvalue condition with constant κ2>0 at sparsity s when ∥Xv∥22n≥κ2∥vS∥22 for every S with ∣S∣≤s and every nonzero v∈C(S). The denominator is the norm of the supported component; this condition does not assert a lower bound for all vectors in Rd.

Dependency tree · two levels

5 results within two dependency steps of this one, each drawn at its shortest distance from it. An arrow runs from a result to what uses it, so the chart reads left to right and ends at this result, which carries a heavier outline. Every node is a link to that result.
