How statement and proof provenance work
The first chip identifies the source of the statement or construction; the second identifies the source of its local proof or verification.
- Literature-sourced: the exact statement appears in a cited source; only wording and notation differ.
- AI-adapted: a semantically identical restatement of literature-sourced material, modulo indexing, notation, and boundary cases adopted by the library.
- AI-generated: a genuinely novel statement formulated by AI, with no source for the claim itself.
These labels describe origin, not correctness: citations and verification chips remain separate evidence.
Cyclically Dehn-reduced words
Definition
Over the symmetrised presentation of Sc toolkit symmetrised relators and pieces, a word is Dehn-reduced if it is freely reduced and has no literal contiguous segment that is an initial segment of some with . Symmetrisation permits the relator segment to start at any corner. A word is cyclically Dehn-reduced if every cyclic rotation of it is Dehn-reduced. Its rotations have the same finite length; the empty word has only itself as a rotation and satisfies both conditions. Equality is permitted. These conditions concern literal subwords, not equalities in the presented group.
Remarks
This is Lipschutz §2's “fully reduced” and “cyclically fully reduced” terminology with a local name. No finiteness assumption on and no effective test is asserted.
