How statement and proof provenance work
The first chip identifies the source of the statement or construction; the second identifies the source of its local proof or verification.
- Literature-sourced: the exact statement appears in a cited source; only wording and notation differ.
- AI-adapted: a semantically identical restatement of literature-sourced material, modulo indexing, notation, and boundary cases adopted by the library.
- AI-generated: a genuinely novel statement formulated by AI, with no source for the claim itself.
These labels describe origin, not correctness: citations and verification chips remain separate evidence.
A finite-dimensional BDDC/FETI-DP spectral match
Example
Let , , , , , , and . Then , , and . The single BDDC and FETI-DP preconditioned eigenvalues both equal .
Facts & Assumptions
Given: The matrices and maps in the Example; the BDDC operator is and the FETI-DP operator is .
Coefficient-scaled averaging and BDDC: the BDDC preconditioned operator is formed from , and the partially assembled energy.
FETI-DP dual system and preconditioner: the dual operator and preconditioner use and its scaled right inverse .
BDDC and FETI-DP have matching nontrivial spectra: the two methods have matching positive nonunit eigenvalues.
Verification
The determinant of is , so . The BDDC coarse operator is , while ; their product is .
The dual operator is , and its preconditioner is ; their product is also . Direct multiplication gives the three identities in the Example, so the abstract assumptions hold.
Both operators are one-dimensional, hence each has the single eigenvalue computed in steps 1.1 and 1.2. The common value is positive and different from , consistent with [F3].

Dependency tree · two levels
7 results within two dependency steps of this one, each drawn at its shortest distance from it. An arrow runs from a result to what uses it, so the chart reads left to right and ends at this result, which carries a heavier outline. Every node is a link to that result.
