How statement and proof provenance work
The first chip identifies the source of the statement or construction; the second identifies the source of its local proof or verification.
- Literature-sourced: the exact statement appears in a cited source; only wording and notation differ.
- AI-adapted: a semantically identical restatement of literature-sourced material, modulo indexing, notation, and boundary cases adopted by the library.
- AI-generated: a genuinely novel statement formulated by AI, with no source for the claim itself.
These labels describe origin, not correctness: citations and verification chips remain separate evidence.
The q = 1 three-site open XXZ chain has loop value 2
Statement
At and , the loop value is . In the mixed-spin sector of each adjacent pair the local block is ; the embedded generators satisfy the TL relations, and in the ordered three-site basis grouped by number of down spins the open Hamiltonian is with .
Facts & Assumptions
Given: The XXZ matrix and Hamiltonian convention at .
has zero action on equal-spin pairs and block on mixed-spin pairs; . (Open XXZ spin-half generators and Hamiltonian convention)
These local matrices satisfy and the adjacent triple relations. (The open XXZ local 4-by-4 matrix satisfies the Temperley–Lieb relations)
The declared open Hamiltonian has the Pauli bulk terms and endpoint contribution established in the XXZ expansion theorem. (The XXZ generator Hamiltonian has the declared Pauli expansion and endpoint field)
Proof
Given: and .
Substituting in gives , and the mixed-spin block in [F1] becomes . In the one-down basis , and . Their sum is . The two-down sector gives the same sum with interchanged, while the all-up and all-down vectors are annihilated.
On the one-down sector, direct multiplication gives and ; on the two-down sector the same two matrices are interchanged, so both identities still hold. The square identity follows from , and the distant commutation condition is vacuous for two generators. This agrees with [F2].
Negating the two embedded generators therefore gives in the stated ordered number-of-down-spins blocks. Equivalently, [F3] gives , with no bond . Here gives and , so the endpoint contribution in [F3] vanishes.

4 results within two dependency steps of this one, each drawn at its shortest distance from it. An arrow runs from a result to what uses it, so the chart reads left to right and ends at this result, which carries a heavier outline. Every node is a link to that result.
