How statement and proof provenance work
The first chip identifies the source of the statement or construction; the second identifies the source of its local proof or verification.
- Literature-sourced: the exact statement appears in a cited source; only wording and notation differ.
- AI-adapted: a semantically identical restatement of literature-sourced material, modulo indexing, notation, and boundary cases adopted by the library.
- AI-generated: a genuinely novel statement formulated by AI, with no source for the claim itself.
These labels describe origin, not correctness: citations and verification chips remain separate evidence.
The open XXZ local 4-by-4 matrix satisfies the Temperley–Lieb relations
Statement
For every , put and let be the local matrix defined in Open XXZ spin-half generators and Hamiltonian convention. Its embeddings on satisfy , , and when . Thus they define a representation of the presented open Temperley–Lieb algebra, including at values where .
Facts & Assumptions
Given: and the ordered spin basis and matrix from Open XXZ spin-half generators and Hamiltonian convention.
On the two mixed-spin basis vectors, has block and is zero on . (Open XXZ spin-half generators and Hamiltonian convention)
The presented Temperley–Lieb relations are the square relation with loop parameter , the two adjacent triple relations, and distant commutation. (The abstract Temperley–Lieb generator presentation)
Proof
Given: The matrix and relations in [F1]–[F2].
Multiplying the nonzero block gives , because and . The zero subspace remains zero, so , including when .
On the three-spin subspace with one down spin, in the ordered basis , the two embedded operators are and . Multiplication gives and ; likewise and . The two-down-spin subspace has the same pair of matrices in reverse order, so both triple identities hold there as well. On the all-up and all-down vectors both operators vanish. These four invariant subspaces exhaust the three-spin space, proving both adjacent relations.
If , the operators act on disjoint tensor factors. For elementary tensors, applying the two operators in either order changes separate tensor coordinates and yields the same vector; linearity gives . This verifies all relations in [F2] for every chain length.

4 results within two dependency steps of this one, each drawn at its shortest distance from it. An arrow runs from a result to what uses it, so the chart reads left to right and ends at this result, which carries a heavier outline. Every node is a link to that result.
