How statement and proof provenance work
The first chip identifies the source of the statement or construction; the second identifies the source of its local proof or verification.
- Literature-sourced: the exact statement appears in a cited source; only wording and notation differ.
- AI-adapted: a semantically identical restatement of literature-sourced material, modulo indexing, notation, and boundary cases adopted by the library.
- AI-generated: a genuinely novel statement formulated by AI, with no source for the claim itself.
These labels describe origin, not correctness: citations and verification chips remain separate evidence.
The extended Hall torus action is well-defined
Statement
For each , the map on homogeneous Hall elements is an algebra automorphism. Hence the cross-relations in The extended Hall algebra and composition subalgebra define an associative crossed-product algebra.
Facts & Assumptions
Given: The associative graded Hall algebra and its symmetric Euler form.
Every Hall product is homogeneous: , since each middle term is in a short exact sequence with endpoints (The Euler-twisted Hall algebra).
The form is symmetric and bilinear on (The hereditary Euler form is additive on the Grothendieck group).
The Hall product is associative and unital (The Euler-twisted Hall product is associative and unital).
Proof
Let be homogeneous of degrees . By [F1], . Thus by [F2], which is the product of the two scaled factors. Therefore the scaling preserves multiplication.
Scaling by is the inverse map, so the scaling in step 1.1 is an automorphism. Associativity of the crossed product follows from [F3], the action law in step 1.1, and addition in : in the declared left-torus normal order, for homogeneous of degrees , the product is . A triple contributes exponent in the first parenthesization and in the second. Bilinearity makes these equal, and [F3] identifies the Hall products. The unit is , and the conjugation relation follows by the same product formula.
