How statement and proof provenance work
The first chip identifies the source of the statement or construction; the second identifies the source of its local proof or verification.
- Literature-sourced: the exact statement appears in a cited source; only wording and notation differ.
- AI-adapted: a semantically identical restatement of literature-sourced material, modulo indexing, notation, and boundary cases adopted by the library.
- AI-generated: a genuinely novel statement formulated by AI, with no source for the claim itself.
These labels describe origin, not correctness: citations and verification chips remain separate evidence.
The Ringel assignment is a bialgebra homomorphism onto the extended composition subalgebra
Statement
For a finite loopless quiver over , using nilpotent finite-dimensional representations when has oriented cycles, the assignment defines a surjective bialgebra homomorphism from the extended positive Borel of The Hall-normalized extended positive Borel of a loopless quiver onto the extended composition subalgebra of The extended Hall algebra and composition subalgebra. The claim does not include injectivity.
Facts & Assumptions
Given: A finite loopless quiver , , and .
For the selected representation category, the simple objects are , , and ; the Euler values are and . For acyclic this is proved in Finite-dimensional representations of an acyclic quiver form a hereditary finitary Hall category. For oriented cycles, the full nilpotent-category hereditary assertion is proved in Finite loopless quiver nilpotent representation categories are hereditary and finitary.
Hall products count subobjects in exact sequences and the Euler-twisted scalar is (The Euler-twisted Hall algebra).
The extended torus acts by (The extended Hall torus action is well-defined).
The DJ-compatible extended Green coproduct agrees on simple and torus generators with the Borel coproduct formulas (The extended Green and repository Drinfeld–Jimbo coproduct conventions agree on simple generators, The extended Green coproduct is an algebra map). The extended Hall counit is an algebra map by the latter supplier.
The symmetric Gaussian alternating sum vanishes under the stated parity and range conditions (A symmetric Gaussian alternating sum vanishes in the Serre range).
The fixed-parameter positive Borel is presented by the torus, Cartan action and quantum Serre relations in The Hall-normalized extended positive Borel of a loopless quiver.
Quantum divided powers use with nonzero factorials at (Quantum integers, factorials, Gaussian binomials and divided powers at ).
Proof
The torus generators map to commuting group-like elements with inverse . By [F3], , which is the Cartan action relation in the Borel presentation.
Fix , and put , , and . The ordinary Serre relation in [F7] is equivalent to the divided-power form multiply this expression by , reindex , use , and note that the two sign conventions differ by the common factor .
Since there are no loops, every extension of by splits. For , the coefficient of in the -fold Hall product counts complete flags in , namely , and the iterated Euler twist is . The identity gives The same formula holds for .
Consider a representation of dimension , so is one-dimensional. Define and let , . Every composition is nilpotent and acts on a one-dimensional space, hence is zero. Therefore . A flag with successive layers is specified by a subspace of dimension with : the first inclusion makes the intermediate object a subrepresentation, and the second makes the bottom object a subrepresentation. Thus the number of such flags is zero unless , and otherwise it is .
The flag count for the three Hall factors, together with the twist , and the two divided-power scalars from step 1.3, shows that the coefficient of in is zero unless , and otherwise equals This is obtained by first choosing the bottom subspace , then using the exact-sequence Hall coefficients for the middle and top quotients; the displayed pairings are the only cross terms between the three graded layers.
For and , counting ordered linearly independent -tuples and dividing by gives The second equality follows from the factorial definitions in [F6] and . Hence the coefficient in step 2.1 can be written
Put and . Expanding the exponent in step 3.1 and using gives Thus the coefficient of in the divided Serre sum of step 1.2 is zero if , and otherwise equals Here ; Gaussian coefficients outside vanish.
There are maps from the -dimensional to the one-dimensional , so . There are reverse-arrow images, each of dimension at most one, so . Hence and while is even. Therefore satisfies the range and parity hypotheses of [F5] with there replaced by . The preceding Gaussian sum vanishes. Every degree- object has zero coefficient, so the divided Serre relation holds in the Hall algebra.
Step 1.1 verifies the torus action, and step 5.1 proves every quantum Serre relation; the Borel presentation [F7] therefore gives an algebra homomorphism with the stated images. By [F4], it intertwines coproducts on generators; since both coproducts are algebra maps, it intertwines them on every product.
On the Borel presentation define and . These assignments respect the torus relations, the Cartan relations (both sides have value zero) and the Serre relations (every monomial has value zero), so define an algebra map. Both counit identities follow on generators from the coproduct formulas in [F7], and extend to all products because the coproduct and are algebra maps. For the Hall counit in [F4], the group-like counit identity gives ; applying to the simple coproduct then gives , hence . Thus the assignment preserves counits on generators and hence everywhere. Its image is exactly the subalgebra generated by the simple classes and torus, the extended composition subalgebra. This proves the stated surjective bialgebra homomorphism.
Source notes
The cyclic nilpotent hereditary supplier proves vanishing by direct arrow-coordinate lifts inside the finite-dimensional nilpotent category; no infinite-dimensional path projectives are imported.
