How statement and proof provenance work
The first chip identifies the source of the statement or construction; the second identifies the source of its local proof or verification.
- Literature-sourced: the exact statement appears in a cited source; only wording and notation differ.
- AI-adapted: a semantically identical restatement of literature-sourced material, modulo indexing, notation, and boundary cases adopted by the library.
- AI-generated: a genuinely novel statement formulated by AI, with no source for the claim itself.
These labels describe origin, not correctness: citations and verification chips remain separate evidence.
A regular level set realizes every compatible second-order jet
Statement
Let be , let , and suppose is surjective. If and then there is a curve on the level near with , , and . For the level is all of and the statement is immediate.
Facts & Assumptions
Given: The map, regular point, vectors , and compatibility equation in the Statement.
Full row rank of persists on a neighborhood, where the level is a graph over with and (Differential rank is lower semicontinuous, A regular level set is locally a graph of dimension ).
A Euclidean map has its second-order Taylor expansion with a Peano remainder (Second-order Taylor expansion ).
Proof
If , then is the unique map into and the level is all of . The curve has the required value and first two derivatives.
Now suppose and take the graph in [F1]. Put . Since for small , [F2] and give and .
The compatibility equation for and step 1.2 imply . Define and . This curve stays on by [F1]. Using [F2] and gives , so its first two derivatives at are and .

Dependency tree · two levels
20 results within two dependency steps of this one, each drawn at its shortest distance from it. An arrow runs from a result to what uses it, so the chart reads left to right and ends at this result, which carries a heavier outline. Every node is a link to that result.
