How statement and proof provenance work

The first chip identifies the source of the statement or construction; the second identifies the source of its local proof or verification.

  • Literature-sourced: the exact statement appears in a cited source; only wording and notation differ.
  • AI-adapted: a semantically identical restatement of literature-sourced material, modulo indexing, notation, and boundary cases adopted by the library.
  • AI-generated: a genuinely novel statement formulated by AI, with no source for the claim itself.

These labels describe origin, not correctness: citations and verification chips remain separate evidence.

The parabolic highest-weight truncation factors through the cyclotomic quotient

Statement

Assume the Axiom of Choice The Axiom of Choice only for the imported Skryabin equivalence identifying the raw Whittaker bimodule and its affine action. The finite raw-matrix polynomial and minimal-polynomial calculations and the ordinary Pc⊗V column-flag calculation are choice-free.

Let λ=(0≤p1≤⋯≤pn) be a nonempty pyramid with columns q1≥⋯≥ql>0, let c=(c1,…,cl) be arbitrary complex origins, and put aj=cj+qj−n for 1≤j≤l. For d≥1 consider the raw tensor operator x1 on the truncated tensor space Vc⊗d of The deformed tensor space for the type-A finite W-algebra (whose underlying space is V⊗d and whose x1 is the operator displayed there). Then the minimal polynomial of x1 on Vc⊗d is exactly ∏j=1l(x−aj), including repeated roots with their multiplicities. Consequently the action of Hd on Vc⊗d factors through the cyclotomic quotient Hd(a) of The degenerate cyclotomic Hecke algebra. The same polynomial annihilates the action of the ordinary Casimir operator on Pc⊗V⊗d, where Pc is the ground induced module with its genuine column filtration.

The statement does not assert that every unrelated standard object N(A), or every parabolic category-O object, carries that same tensor action. For d=0 there is no operator x1. The integral-root weight Λ and the arbitrary-root coset bookkeeping are the separate conventions of The degenerate cyclotomic Hecke algebra.

Facts & Assumptions

Given: The nonempty pyramid, arbitrary origins c, ab=cb+qb−n, N=∑bqb, and d≥0. The direct polynomial and column-flag arguments are choice-free. Assume AC The Axiom of Choice only for the imported Skryabin equivalence establishing the raw affine action.

[F1]

Define the raw operator locally on E=V⊗d, V=CN, for d≥1 by x1=(e+∑j=1Nacol⁡(j)Ejj)(1)−∑k=2d∑col⁡(i)<col⁡(j)Eij(1)Eji(k). A superscript (k) denotes tensor position k. The box-labelled e sends vj to its left neighbour, with a missing neighbour interpreted as zero, and its longest string has length l=pn (The type-A nilpotent pyramid, good grading and Whittaker character, Every finite-dimensional nilpotent endomorphism has a basis of Jordan strings). This local display supplies every later-position term, without using the downstream Deformed definition as a prerequisite.

[F2]

Put Qb=∑h≤bqh, Q0=0, and μb=cb+Qb−n. The ordinary ground module is Pc=U(g)⊗U(p)Cμ, where Eij1μ=δijμcol⁡(i)1μ. This is a Lie character, being a scalar trace on each column-Levi block and zero on the positive nilradical. PBW gives U(g) free as a right U(p)-module by ordering m before p; the natural module has the p-stable flag V≤b spanned by boxes in columns 1,…,b (The type-A nilpotent pyramid, good grading and Whittaker character, PBW gives an ordered monomial basis for the enveloping algebra, Universal enveloping algebra).

[F3]

Separately, Cc denotes the p-character Eij↦δijccol⁡(i). The actual balanced Skryabin tensor map identifies Wh((Qχ⊗WCc)⊗V⊗d) with Cc⊗V⊗d. Its formula is (η(u)1χ⊗1c)⊗v↦u1c⊗v, with η(Eij)=Eij+δij(n−∑h≥col⁡(i)qh). The ambient trace-form Casimir/place operators preserve Whittaker vectors and satisfy the affine Hecke relations (Skryabin's equivalence for the type-A Whittaker pair, The type-A finite W-algebra and the Whittaker category, Arakawa-Suzuki Casimir operators on tensor functors, The Casimir and place-permutation operators satisfy the degenerate affine Hecke relations). This is a genuine Whittaker model; Pc is treated separately and is not asserted to belong to that category.

[F4]

The trace-form Casimir is Ω=∑i,jEij⊗Eji; its operator on a tensor product of genuine g-modules commutes with diagonal g. The universal first Hecke operator is Ω01, higher operators are Ω0j+∑k<jPkj, and places satisfy xj+1=sjxjsj+sj. The generator-fixing anti-involution converts these endomorphisms into a right action (Arakawa-Suzuki Casimir operators on tensor functors, The Casimir and place-permutation operators satisfy the degenerate affine Hecke relations, The degenerate cyclotomic Hecke algebra).

[F5]

Matrix units act by Eijva=δjavi. For the total grading deg⁡va=l−col⁡(a), an individual e has degree one and a two-position exchange has total degree zero. Leading symbols multiply in the induced endomorphism filtration (Classical complex matrix Lie algebras, Associated graded algebra of a filtered algebra, Nilpotent endomorphisms and their nilpotency index).

Given: The locally defined raw operator and ordinary induced module of F1–F5. Assume AC only for F3's supplied equivalence and transported action; no integrality or admissibility assumption on c is used.

Establish the raw affine action without a downstream dependency. Let Qc=Qχ⊗WCc and write πc(η(u)1χ⊗1c)=u1c for the balanced evaluation of F3. For a tensor basis vector vj write its actual Whittaker preimage as z=∑izi⊗vi, so πc(zi)=δi,j. If Eab∈p, then πc(Eabzi)=δab(ccol⁡(a)+∑h≥col⁡(a)qh−n)δi,j. If Eab∈m, the Whittaker equation gives Eabzi=χ(Eab)zi−∑t:it=azi[a↦b at t]. Apply these identities to (πc⊗1)Ω01z. The nonnegative-column terms give the displayed diagonal scalar before subtraction; the negative character terms give the left neighbour of j1; replacement in the first position subtracts ∑h>col⁡(j1)qh, while replacement in any later position k contributes the negative swap precisely when col⁡(jk)<col⁡(j1). Thus the resulting operator is exactly F1. Transported places are ordinary place permutations by naturality. F3–F4 therefore give the affine relations for these raw operators, with xj+1=sjxjsj+sj, independently of the lemma's downstream consumer.

On a tensor basis vector the full local formula is vjx1=vL1(j)+acol⁡(j1)vj−∑k>1:col⁡(jk)<col⁡(j1)vj⋅(1 k). Let Cb be the span of tensors whose first box has column at most b, with C0=0. The left shift and every negative swap strictly lower the first column; the diagonal term preserves it. Hence every Cb is stable and Cb(x1−ab)⊆Cb−1. Starting with Cl=E, apply the factors from b=l down to b=1. Their product kills E, and the factors commute since all are polynomials in x1. Thus f(x1)=0 for f(t)=∏b=1l(t−ab), including coincident roots with all their repeated factors.

For the ordinary ground module, PBW gives an exact induction functor U(g)⊗U(p)−, since U(g) is right-free over U(p). The tensor identity is the g-linear map θ:U(g)⊗U(p)(Cμ⊗V)→Pc⊗V, u⊗(1μ⊗v)↦∑u(1)(1⊗1μ)⊗u(2)v, where Δ(Eab)=Eab⊗1+1⊗Eab. The matrix-unit relations show that Δ extends multiplicatively to U(g), and its formula gives the required balancing over U(p). On the PBW basis of U(m), θ has leading term u(1⊗1μ)⊗v; all other terms have smaller PBW degree in the first factor. Finite descending subtraction proves it is bijective. Exact induction and θ carry the flag Cμ⊗V≤b to a genuine g-submodule flag 0=F0⊂F1⊂⋯⊂Fl=Pc⊗V. This is the column flag of the tensor product, not a finite flag of Pc itself.

2.1F1F5step 1.2algebra

Give E the total tensor grading of F5. The left shift raises this degree by one. The diagonal terms have degree zero, and Eij(1)Eji(k) has degree (col⁡(j)−col⁡(i))+(col⁡(i)−col⁡(j))=0, regardless of the column gap. Therefore gr⁡1x1=e(1). For a nonzero polynomial g of degree r<l with leading coefficient γ, the degree-r symbol of g(x1) is γ(e(1))r≠0: a top vector in a longest row has a nonzero rth left shift, and the remaining tensor positions can be any nonzero basis vectors. This includes r=0, whose symbol is a nonzero scalar identity. Consequently no polynomial of degree less than l annihilates E. Together with step 1.2, this proves that f is the exact minimal polynomial, even when roots coincide.

Put m0=1⊗1μ∈Pc and choose a box j in column b. By the matrix-unit action, Ω(m0⊗vj)=∑kEjkm0⊗vk. For col⁡(k)≥b, Ejk∈p, so only k=j survives and contributes μbm0⊗vj. For each earlier-column box k, the primitive coproduct formula in step 1.3 gives Ejkm0⊗vk=θ(Ejk⊗(1μ⊗vk))−m0⊗Ejkvk. The first term belongs to Fb−1 and the second is −m0⊗vj. There are exactly Qb−1 such boxes. Hence Ω(m0⊗vj)≡(μb−Qb−1)m0⊗vj=abm0⊗vj(modFb−1). Since Ω is g-linear and Fb is generated by these ground tensors in columns at most b, this also proves that it preserves the full flag and acts by ab on Fb/Fb−1.

3.1F4step 1.1step 1.2step 2.1algebra

The raw affine action in step 1.1 kills f(x1) by step 1.2, so its right representation kills the two-sided ideal generated by this polynomial and descends to Hd(a). The generator-fixing anti-involution fixes f(x1), so the quotient statement respects the right-action convention. The preceding proof uses only the raw first-column flag and total grading, not a purported Skryabin image of an ordinary category-O object.

3.2F4step 1.3step 2.2algebra

Apply Ω−al,…,Ω−a1 successively to the flag of step 2.2. Each factor moves the relevant flag piece down one column, so their product annihilates Pc⊗V. The factors commute and their order is immaterial. On Pc⊗V⊗d the first ordinary Hecke/Casimir operator is Ω01 tensored with the identity on the remaining d−1 natural factors. Tensoring the annihilating operator identity therefore gives f(Ω01)=0 on this entire module. No irreducibility, integral-origin identification or ordinary-to-Whittaker transfer was used.

4.1F4step 3.1step 3.2algebra∎

The raw minimal-polynomial statement and quotient factorization follow from steps 1.1, 1.2, 2.1 and 3.1, and the ordinary induced-module annihilation follows separately from steps 1.3, 2.2 and 3.2, for arbitrary complex c and every nonempty pyramid. For d=0 there are no xj, so there is no x1 or minimal polynomial to assert; the Hecke algebra is C. The integral-root weight and arbitrary-complex coset conventions remain those of the cyclotomic definition and play no role in either local calculation.

Remarks

  • Repeated roots are retained because the first-column flags use one polynomial factor per column; exact minimal degree uses the largest Jordan string and does not require separability.

  • The raw proof and the ordinary ground-module proof are separate. The raw action comes from the genuine module Qχ⊗WCc via the actual balanced Skryabin map, whereas the ordinary ground module is induced from Cμ with μb=cb+∑h≤bqh−n.

  • The Statement's link to the Deformed definition identifies the actual raw operator context, recorded as a direct dependency. The polynomial and ordinary column-flag arguments remain locally supplied; the Deformed definition independently proves its own raw polynomial and does not depend on this lemma.
