How statement and proof provenance work
The first chip identifies the source of the statement or construction; the second identifies the source of its local proof or verification.
- Literature-sourced: the exact statement appears in a cited source; only wording and notation differ.
- AI-adapted: a semantically identical restatement of literature-sourced material, modulo indexing, notation, and boundary cases adopted by the library.
- AI-generated: a genuinely novel statement formulated by AI, with no source for the claim itself.
These labels describe origin, not correctness: citations and verification chips remain separate evidence.

Facts & Assumptions
Given: Finite integers , matrices and , with invertible, and .
The inverse exists, so all displayed matrix products are defined.
is an matrix; a square linear map in finite dimension is invertible once its kernel is zero.
Proof
Assume is invertible and define . Expansion gives , because .
Expanding in the other order gives , because . Thus is the two-sided inverse of , proving this direction and the formula.
Conversely assume is invertible and let satisfy . Set . Then , so invertibility gives . Hence , and therefore . Since , we have . Thus has zero kernel; by [A2] it is invertible.
