How statement and proof provenance work
The first chip identifies the source of the statement or construction; the second identifies the source of its local proof or verification.
- Literature-sourced: the exact statement appears in a cited source; only wording and notation differ.
- AI-adapted: a semantically identical restatement of literature-sourced material, modulo indexing, notation, and boundary cases adopted by the library.
- AI-generated: a genuinely novel statement formulated by AI, with no source for the claim itself.
These labels describe origin, not correctness: citations and verification chips remain separate evidence.
Filtered L∞-morphisms preserve Maurer–Cartan elements and compose on solutions
Statement
Let be a filtered L∞-morphism between complete filtered algebras over a characteristic-zero field. For every , the Taylor series converges in , and its curvature satisfies
Consequently defines an actual continuous map , with Maurer–Cartan elements as in Maurer–Cartan element of a complete filtered L∞-algebra. If is another filtered L∞-morphism, the composite has Taylor coefficients
where blocks and signs are as in Filtered L∞-morphism. The composite is filtered, and
Identity morphisms act as identities. These are equalities of convergent elements, not merely formal Taylor expressions; no quasi-isomorphism hypothesis is needed.
Facts & Assumptions
Given: Complete filtered shifted L∞-algebras over one characteristic-zero field and the stated filtered morphisms.
Filtered Taylor maps extend to the completed coaugmented symmetric coalgebra supplies the completed coaugmented coalgebras, exponentials, curvature and marked-input identities, and continuous Taylor extensions.
Maurer–Cartan element of a complete filtered L∞-algebra defines by and .
Proof
The series defining converges in by [F1]. Since , its exponential satisfies . The marked-input identity of [F1] rewrites the last expression as . Multiply by to obtain the curvature formula. This series converges since its th term has filtration at least .
The continuous coalgebra map intertwines coderivations because , where is the coderivation on . Its length-one projection on applies to the length- part of the partition formula for , giving exactly the stated formula for . Every term has degree zero and additive filtration, because first the blocks and then add the input filtration indices. Thus is a filtered morphism.
If , every term on the right vanishes, so and [F2] gives the asserted map on Maurer–Cartan elements. For with , the multilinear telescoping expansion of has in every term one input in and all other inputs in , so it lies in . Hence . This proves continuity in the filtration topology.
For repeated degree-zero , the coefficient formula becomes . After dividing by and summing over , the result is . The regrouping is finite modulo , since each input has filtration at least one and all terms with input count at least vanish there. Equivalently , and projection to gives the same result.
The identity Taylor family has only its linear term nonzero, so its Taylor pushforward is itself. Composition is associative because composition of the continuous coalgebra maps is associative; it can also be read from refinement of the finite set partitions modulo each filtration quotient. Together with the preceding calculations this proves all the claims on actual solution sets.
