How statement and proof provenance work
The first chip identifies the source of the statement or construction; the second identifies the source of its local proof or verification.
- Literature-sourced: the exact statement appears in a cited source; only wording and notation differ.
- AI-adapted: a semantically identical restatement of literature-sourced material, modulo indexing, notation, and boundary cases adopted by the library.
- AI-generated: a genuinely novel statement formulated by AI, with no source for the claim itself.
These labels describe origin, not correctness: citations and verification chips remain separate evidence.
Compact gauge model fixes total matter charge
Statement refuted
For every finite oriented graph and every fixed background , the compact gauge model has a physical state in every total matter-occupation sector , independently of .
Construction
Use two vertices , one link , one fermion mode per vertex, and . A state with exactly one occupied fermion mode cannot be physical, whatever link-electric basis label is chosen: summing the two Gauss equations fixes total occupation to zero.
Facts & Assumptions
Given: The finite-graph CAR model on the specified graph, fixed zero background, and the Gauss-law physical subspace.
Region charge equals boundary electric flux: on a graph with no external boundary, every physical vector satisfies .
Counterexample
Given: [F1] and the graph and background in the Construction.
Here and , so on their common domain; the link flux cancels.
The zero-background identity from [F1] requires on every physical vector. The normalized occupation vector with has total number one, so it is not physical and the asserted every-sector property fails.
