How statement and proof provenance work
The first chip identifies the source of the statement or construction; the second identifies the source of its local proof or verification.
- Literature-sourced: the exact statement appears in a cited source; only wording and notation differ.
- AI-adapted: a semantically identical restatement of literature-sourced material, modulo indexing, notation, and boundary cases adopted by the library.
- AI-generated: a genuinely novel statement formulated by AI, with no source for the claim itself.
These labels describe origin, not correctness: citations and verification chips remain separate evidence.
Counterexample: the temporal order of a spacelike-separated pair is not the same in every inertial frame
Statement refuted
False claim. For any two distinct events of the affine Minkowski model, the sign of the time-coordinate difference is independent of the inertial frame (Inertial frames and inertial charts of the affine Minkowski model).
Facts & Assumptions
Given: An inertial frame with chart , the events and , and the displacement with coordinates .
For a spacelike displacement holds in every inertial chart, and for every the chart of the inertial frame with basis (same origin) satisfies and with (Spacelike-separated events: the spacelike coordinate inequality in every inertial chart, and an explicit family of inertial frames realizing every time-order sign).
For the passive boost acts in the -plane by , and is a proper orthochronous Lorentz map (The passive Lorentz boost with parameter beta, The passive boost is a proper orthochronous Lorentz map with inverse B(-beta)).
Diagonal form and classification: ; a nonzero vector with positive squared norm is spacelike (Timelike, null, spacelike and causal vectors of a Lorentz vector space).
Time monotonicity: for every piecewise future causal path that is nonconstant on , every inertial chart gives ; and for with the straight path from to is a future causal path (Future causal reachability, absence of causal loops, time monotonicity and the straight-worldline proper-time maximum).

Counterexample
The displacement has coordinates , so and ; by [L3] the displacement is spacelike, so [L1] applies to the pair.
With , admissible since , one has , so the chart of the inertial frame of [L1] satisfies .
With , admissible since , one has , so .
The charts and are charts of inertial frames of the model by [L1] and [L2], and they assign to the same pair of events time-coordinate differences of opposite sign by steps 2.1 and 2.2; the claim of [L5] is therefore false. The failure is confined to spacelike-separated pairs: if with future causal, then [L4] gives the straight path from to as a nonconstant future causal path, so every inertial chart gives ; no choice principle is used.
