How statement and proof provenance work
The first chip identifies the source of the statement or construction; the second identifies the source of its local proof or verification.
- Literature-sourced: the exact statement appears in a cited source; only wording and notation differ.
- AI-adapted: a semantically identical restatement of literature-sourced material, modulo indexing, notation, and boundary cases adopted by the library.
- AI-generated: a genuinely novel statement formulated by AI, with no source for the claim itself.
These labels describe origin, not correctness: citations and verification chips remain separate evidence.
Central pressure is unbounded at the constant-density branch limit
A counterexample within the explicit constant-density branch as u approaches 8/9 from below; no general Buchdahl theorem or claim about realistic matter.
Statement refuted
For fixed energy density , there is a finite constant such that every radius with in the constant-density family satisfies .
Facts & Assumptions
Given: The constant-density family from Verified constant-density static star and vacuum exterior, including its strict range and central-pressure formula.
Verified constant-density static star and vacuum exterior states with for every ; this is a family-specific formula, not a general compactness theorem.
Counterexample
Given: Fixed , varying radii with , the uniform-bound statement above, and the family-specific formula [F1].
For each integer , set and . Keep fixed and set . Then , so every is an admissible member of [F1] at the fixed density. Moreover and .
By [F1], . The numerator tends to and the denominator tends to through positive values, so the ratios tend to . Therefore no finite can bound all ratios, refuting the displayed statement. At the limiting value , the denominator is zero and the endpoint is not an admissible regular finite-pressure member.
