How statement and proof provenance work

The first chip identifies the source of the statement or construction; the second identifies the source of its local proof or verification.

  • Literature-sourced: the exact statement appears in a cited source; only wording and notation differ.
  • AI-adapted: a semantically identical restatement of literature-sourced material, modulo indexing, notation, and boundary cases adopted by the library.
  • AI-generated: a genuinely novel statement formulated by AI, with no source for the claim itself.

These labels describe origin, not correctness: citations and verification chips remain separate evidence.

Cohomological spectral sequence

Definition

A cohomological spectral sequence in an abelian category A has objects Erp,q of A for r≥r0≥0 and square-zero maps dr:Erp,q→Erp+r,q−r+1, with specified isomorphisms H(Er,dr)p,q→Er+1p,q in A. Its total degree is p+q, raised by one by d. Equivalently it is a Homological spectral sequence in the same abelian category under Erp,q=E−p,−qr: negating the target indices (−p−r,−q+r−1) gives (p+r,q−r+1). Negating again recovers the homological sequence, including its transition data.
