How statement and proof provenance work
The first chip identifies the source of the statement or construction; the second identifies the source of its local proof or verification.
- Literature-sourced: the exact statement appears in a cited source; only wording and notation differ.
- AI-adapted: a semantically identical restatement of literature-sourced material, modulo indexing, notation, and boundary cases adopted by the library.
- AI-generated: a genuinely novel statement formulated by AI, with no source for the claim itself.
These labels describe origin, not correctness: citations and verification chips remain separate evidence.
Bounded-domain charged conformal problem
Definition
Let be a nonempty, bounded, connected open set with smooth boundary, meaning each boundary point has Euclidean coordinates in which is one side of a smooth graph. Use Euclidean coordinates , let , write , and set . A multi-index is , where ; write and . Fix , a real function with , and a real dimensionless parameter . For a real function on , define
and let consist of the continuous functions with finite displayed norm. Define to consist of functions whose derivatives through order on extend continuously to and whose norm
is finite, where is a multi-index. Write , with its inherited norm, and . The bounded-domain charged conformal problem is to find such that on and
In the conformal-seed specialization , , , and (so and ), the initial data are time-symmetric, meaning their second fundamental form is . The scalar equation is the Hamiltonian constraint from the conformal electrovacuum transformation when . Here are independently prescribed contravariant Euclidean vector fields, each the restriction of a smooth map on an open neighborhood of , and divergence-free means on in these Cartesian coordinates. The actual barred seed fields are and . In geometric length coordinates, are dimensionless, have units of inverse length, and has units of inverse length squared. This is a specialization with prescribed fields; the general problem allows any nonnegative . The definition does not assert existence, uniqueness, a momentum constraint, or an asymptotically Euclidean or puncture solution.
