How statement and proof provenance work
The first chip identifies the source of the statement or construction; the second identifies the source of its local proof or verification.
- Literature-sourced: the exact statement appears in a cited source; only wording and notation differ.
- AI-adapted: a semantically identical restatement of literature-sourced material, modulo indexing, notation, and boundary cases adopted by the library.
- AI-generated: a genuinely novel statement formulated by AI, with no source for the claim itself.
These labels describe origin, not correctness: citations and verification chips remain separate evidence.
Restricted incompressible creeping-flow Stokes model
Ideal creeping-flow auxiliary model with specified data/decay/regularity; no empirical premises.
Definition
Use the Newtonian Cartesian inertial chart convention of the earlier classical-frame definition, with spatial coordinates in metres. Let be open, constant density in , constant dynamic viscosity in , velocity in , pressure in pascals, and specified body acceleration in . Set in , , and ; has units and has units . The stress has units Pa. The selected steady creeping Stokes branch is Equivalently, . The definition uses the zero-inertia alternative force balance and does not also impose the full material-acceleration equation on the same field. Boundary, far-field, geometry and decay conditions are separate. The force-free sphere application selects . No error estimate comparing this steady branch with the full constant-density momentum equation retaining material acceleration is asserted.

Facts & Assumptions
Given: Open , constant , , , specified , and adopted constitutive and zero-inertia inputs.
Specified wall, thermal, periodic and initial data: boundary and far-field inputs are separate and imply no solution.
Newtonian stress and Fourier conductive closure: the selected stress is ; its Fourier law is unused.
Alternative restricted creeping-flow force balance: the alternative steady balance is , and the full material-acceleration law is not simultaneously imposed.
Classical frames, primitive quantities and SI units: time is absolute in seconds on Newtonian spacetime with oriented Euclidean affine three-space; a frame is an adapted Cartesian inertial chart with spatial coordinates in metres and inertial chart changes , for constant , in , and in metres. Its SI dictionary assigns units , units , units Pa, units , and units .
Proof
Use the adapted Cartesian inertial chart and SI field dictionary in [F1]. The definition combines the incompressible Newtonian stress [A2] with the adopted alternative steady force balance [A3]. It is a formulation definition, not a derivation from measurements.
Componentwise, . The last term vanishes; therefore is exactly .
No boundary data enter this equivalence; their selection under [A1] gives no existence or error estimate.
