How statement and proof provenance work

The first chip identifies the source of the statement or construction; the second identifies the source of its local proof or verification.

  • Literature-sourced: the exact statement appears in a cited source; only wording and notation differ.
  • AI-adapted: a semantically identical restatement of literature-sourced material, modulo indexing, notation, and boundary cases adopted by the library.
  • AI-generated: a genuinely novel statement formulated by AI, with no source for the claim itself.

These labels describe origin, not correctness: citations and verification chips remain separate evidence.

Proper-orthochronous Poincaré action and test pullback

Definition

Fix coordinates x=(x0,x)∈R4 and the Minkowski matrix η:=diag⁡(1,−1,−1,−1). The proper-orthochronous Lorentz group is SO+(1,3):={Λ∈GL4(R):ΛTηΛ=η, det⁡Λ=1, Λ00≥1}, with its subspace topology from real 4×4 matrices. The proper-orthochronous Poincaré group is the semidirect product P+↑:=SO+(1,3)⋉R4, with multiplication (Λ,a)(Γ,b)=(ΛΓ,a+Λb), identity e=(I,0), and affine action gx=Λx+a. Its topology is the product topology on the matrix and translation coordinates.

For f∈S:=S(R4;C) define the pointwise pullback formula, viewed initially as a smooth function, Tgf(x):=f(g−1x)=f(Λ−1(x−a)). On smooth functions this formula obeys TgTh=Tgh and Tef=f, by the group law. This definition specifies the formula and conventions; it does not assert that Tgf belongs to S. Translations have the convention T(I,z)f(x)=f(x−z).

With this signature, p⋅z:=p0z0−p⋅z, V‾+:={p∈R4:p0≥∣p∣} is the closed forward cone, and x−y is spacelike exactly when (x0−y0)2−∣x−y∣2<0.
