How statement and proof provenance work
The first chip identifies the source of the statement or construction; the second identifies the source of its local proof or verification.
- Literature-sourced: the exact statement appears in a cited source; only wording and notation differ.
- AI-adapted: a semantically identical restatement of literature-sourced material, modulo indexing, notation, and boundary cases adopted by the library.
- AI-generated: a genuinely novel statement formulated by AI, with no source for the claim itself.
These labels describe origin, not correctness: citations and verification chips remain separate evidence.
Presentation and Čech quotient topologies for coherent analytic sections
Definition
Let be a finite-dimensional complex manifold, let be its sheaf of holomorphic functions, and let be a coherent -module sheaf. On an open set contained in a coordinate chart and in a neighborhood with a finite presentation , where are finite nonnegative ranks, require that the section map is surjective. Give the compact-convergence topology generated by the seminorms for compact , and give the quotient topology induced by that surjection. On any open subset covered by countably many such sets, use the topology of the closed subspace of the product of their local section spaces consisting of compatible families. For a finite ordered open cover whose nonempty finite intersections have these section topologies, give each Čech cochain space
the finite-product topology, give its cocycle space the subspace topology, and give the quotient of cocycles by coboundaries the Čech quotient topology. The accompanying Fréchet-quotient lemma proves local chart and presentation independence; the compact projective-space finiteness theorem proves independence of its admissible finite acyclic cover topology.
