How statement and proof provenance work
The first chip identifies the source of the statement or construction; the second identifies the source of its local proof or verification.
- Literature-sourced: the exact statement appears in a cited source; only wording and notation differ.
- AI-adapted: a semantically identical restatement of literature-sourced material, modulo indexing, notation, and boundary cases adopted by the library.
- AI-generated: a genuinely novel statement formulated by AI, with no source for the claim itself.
These labels describe origin, not correctness: citations and verification chips remain separate evidence.
Finite SU(2) Wilson plaquette measure
Definition
Assume . Use the matrix group with matrix multiplication and the embedded smooth-manifold structure on used for special unitary matrix groups. Its defining representation is the identity smooth homomorphism on with positive-definite Hermitian form . In real coordinates every element has the form
Let be the induced round surface-area measure on , whose total area is , and let be the pushforward of under . In spherical coordinates , , , , its coordinate density is , where and for , . Define the real class function .
For each oriented face , let be the product of its link matrices in boundary traversal order, using inverse matrices on reverse edges. For dimensionless , define the pure-gauge Wilson plaquette action on any finite oriented lattice by
when a dimensionless bare coupling is used. The finite link measure is the product of over positively oriented edges, and its normalized expectation is the finite product integral with density proportional to . The one-plaquette normalizing factor and one-plaquette probability are
Since , every gives ; hence is finite and positive and is a normalized probability measure.
This defines only a finite-lattice mathematical measure; it does not define an infinite-volume or continuum expectation.
