How statement and proof provenance work
The first chip identifies the source of the statement or construction; the second identifies the source of its local proof or verification.
- Literature-sourced: the exact statement appears in a cited source; only wording and notation differ.
- AI-adapted: a semantically identical restatement of literature-sourced material, modulo indexing, notation, and boundary cases adopted by the library.
- AI-generated: a genuinely novel statement formulated by AI, with no source for the claim itself.
These labels describe origin, not correctness: citations and verification chips remain separate evidence.
A nontrivial cocycle weight on the finite two-element gauge groupoid
Example
Let and let the finite background groupoid be the conjugation action groupoid : its objects are , its arrows are labels with , and composition of labels then is . Give the trivial -action. Define by and ; for this action the normalized group -cocycle condition is , which these values satisfy. Set . The action weight is invariant under every arrow, and the normalized gauging sum is zero.

Facts & Assumptions
Given: The conjugation action groupoid for , the trivial action of on , and the function specified in the Example.
Finite background groupoid and cocycle-weighted gauging data: a cocycle/action weight is a -valued function constant on every gauge arrow, and the normalized sum divides each isomorphism-class weight by its automorphism-group order.
Proof
Since is abelian, conjugation fixes each of its two elements. Thus the groupoid has two isomorphism classes, represented by and , and each automorphism group is all of .
The map is a group homomorphism: its values satisfy and . Hence it is a normalized group 1-cocycle. Since conjugation is trivial, is constant on each arrow and is an admissible action weight.
The normalized sum is .
