How statement and proof provenance work
The first chip identifies the source of the statement or construction; the second identifies the source of its local proof or verification.
- Literature-sourced: the exact statement appears in a cited source; only wording and notation differ.
- AI-adapted: a semantically identical restatement of literature-sourced material, modulo indexing, notation, and boundary cases adopted by the library.
- AI-generated: a genuinely novel statement formulated by AI, with no source for the claim itself.
These labels describe origin, not correctness: citations and verification chips remain separate evidence.
Background scalar wave versus coupled source equations
Exact smooth plane-wave calculations in the specified classical scalar model on a flat background. They distinguish a matter equation solution from a solution of the coupled equations and make no empirical or quantum claim.
Example
Take the trivial global-potential branch of the scalar model on with global coordinates , where and , and Minkowski metric . Use the trivial principal bundle with its product connection, so the global physical potential is , and take . Set , where is a classical inverse-length parameter , not a rest mass. Let be dimensionless and let have components in . Define the angular frequency , with unit . The smooth field solves the scalar equation for every allowed value of , because makes . Its current, however, depends on . The two cases below show why a solution of the scalar equation on a prescribed background need not solve the coupled Einstein–Maxwell system.
Facts & Assumptions
Given: The smooth scalar model and its coupled equations from Field equations and balances of the selected scalar coupling, the flat metric and fields in the Example, , , real , and the indexed countable-choice convention [A3].
Field equations and balances of the selected scalar coupling: with , scalar stationarity requires ; the matter current and stress are and ; the coupled Maxwell and Einstein equations use those sources.
, there is no additional matter stress, and the background potential is , so .
The scalar is a smooth global complex field on the trivial bundle; , , , , and is any real number on this branch. In particular, both and are admissible.
The Axiom of Countable Choice (): every sequence of nonempty sets has a choice function. This is the indexed countable-choice convention used by the compact integration suppliers; no full Axiom of Choice is assumed.
Verification
Given: The hypotheses and exact field definitions above.
Since in the trivial branch [A2], . With , by the definition of . Thus the plane wave solves the selected scalar equation on the flat background.
For the admissible case of [A2], the current formula in [F1] gives . On shell, by step 1.1, and , so . The stress formula in [F1] therefore gives . In the Cartesian coordinates of , the metric components are constant; the Levi-Civita formula therefore gives , and the curvature formula then gives . With and , the coupled Einstein equation would require , impossible because .
For the admissible case of [A2] and the same wave, , so . The sourced Maxwell equation would require , because ; this is impossible since . Thus the background scalar wave is not a coupled solution in this branch either.
The exact calculations establish a conditional model example only. is not identified with , and no particle, observation, or quantum field interpretation is asserted.
