How statement and proof provenance work
The first chip identifies the source of the statement or construction; the second identifies the source of its local proof or verification.
- Literature-sourced: the exact statement appears in a cited source; only wording and notation differ.
- AI-adapted: a semantically identical restatement of literature-sourced material, modulo indexing, notation, and boundary cases adopted by the library.
- AI-generated: a genuinely novel statement formulated by AI, with no source for the claim itself.
These labels describe origin, not correctness: citations and verification chips remain separate evidence.
Advected nonconstant charge ratio without Maxwell closure
Example
Let with length coordinates , Minkowski metric , orientation , future time-orientation , and . In SI bookkeeping, assign , , and . Choose , , and . Set
The fields are smooth and the ratio is nonconstant in space. This is a mathematical example of the matter balance and transport equations; the sourced Maxwell equation is not imposed.
Facts & Assumptions
Given: The stated Minkowski coordinates and fields; and .
Smooth formal matter, EM tensors and observer quantities: , , , and the sourced Maxwell equation would be with .
Charged dust balance equivalence and advected charge ratio: on a positive-density domain, dust exchange is equivalent to continuity and the Lorentz-force equation; under continuity, is equivalent to .
Verification
The constant Minkowski connection gives , , and . Since , [F2] yields charge-current conservation .
The acceleration of is zero, and because . Thus the force equation and mass continuity in [F2] hold, so the matter-exchange equation holds. But and , which differ because ; hence is not spatially constant.
The factor is at least , so is nonzero everywhere. For , the sourced Maxwell equation would read , which fails. Hence matter balance and charge transport alone do not supply Maxwell closure.
Remarks
The example is not a coupled Einstein–Maxwell solution and makes no claim about physical existence. It shows exactly why constant is not a consequence of the dust exchange identity.
