How statement and proof provenance work
The first chip identifies the source of the statement or construction; the second identifies the source of its local proof or verification.
- Literature-sourced: the exact statement appears in a cited source; only wording and notation differ.
- AI-adapted: a semantically identical restatement of literature-sourced material, modulo indexing, notation, and boundary cases adopted by the library.
- AI-generated: a genuinely novel statement formulated by AI, with no source for the claim itself.
These labels describe origin, not correctness: citations and verification chips remain separate evidence.
Zero force leaves an exponentially growing acceleration branch
A constructed mathematical example in the adopted Abraham–Lorentz ODE: zero prescribed force admits an exponentially growing acceleration branch, and position plus velocity at one time do not select it. This is a model property, not an observed particle trajectory or an empirical claim.
Example
In the adopted equation, set and fix any . For every constant acceleration vector with units , the acceleration is a solution. For any fixed position and velocity at , a trajectory with that acceleration is
Thus the same position and velocity at admit different acceleration branches; grows exponentially as . This does not establish that any physical charge follows such a trajectory.

Facts & Assumptions
Given: The adopted equation with , , and prescribed data , .
For zero force, every acceleration solution is , and the bounded-future branch is . (Runaway and bounded-future branches of the Abraham–Lorentz equation)
The real exponential is defined by its convergent power series and has derivative ; the usual product and chain rules hold. (The real exponential function and the number by a power series, The exponential function is smooth and , Sums, scalar multiples, products and quotients: , , , and when , The chain rule, in one line from Carathéodory: if is differentiable at and is differentiable at , then is differentiable at with )
Verification
Since , the acceleration satisfies , hence .
Differentiating twice gives ; at the exponential factor is , so and . Choosing and any therefore gives different solutions with the same position and velocity data, and the nonzero branch is unbounded in the future by exponential growth.
