How statement and proof provenance work
The first chip identifies the source of the statement or construction; the second identifies the source of its local proof or verification.
- Literature-sourced: the exact statement appears in a cited source; only wording and notation differ.
- AI-adapted: a semantically identical restatement of literature-sourced material, modulo indexing, notation, and boundary cases adopted by the library.
- AI-generated: a genuinely novel statement formulated by AI, with no source for the claim itself.
These labels describe origin, not correctness: citations and verification chips remain separate evidence.
Affine-plane localization from BM classes
Example
Let act on by , and let be the first Chern classes of the two coordinate characters in the product Borel model. The single affine chart is a finite invariant affine atlas, the fixed locus is the proper point , and the tangent weights at that point are the two coordinate characters. Compute the intrinsic localized pushforward of the complex-oriented fundamental class; the result is .

Verification
Given: The action and data in the Example.
The affine plane itself is an affine -invariant chart. A point is fixed exactly when both coordinates vanish, so is proper. Differentiating the action at gives the representation ; hence by [F3].
Apply [F2] with the cohomological insertion . The fixed component is one point, and its proper pushforward sends its degree-zero fundamental class to . Therefore . Here the target means , which can be nonzero although the unlocalized group is zero. The denominator has cohomological degree , so its inverse has Borel–Moore degree , matching the fundamental class.
