How statement and proof provenance work
The first chip identifies the source of the statement or construction; the second identifies the source of its local proof or verification.
- Literature-sourced: the exact statement appears in a cited source; only wording and notation differ.
- AI-adapted: a semantically identical restatement of literature-sourced material, modulo indexing, notation, and boundary cases adopted by the library.
- AI-generated: a genuinely novel statement formulated by AI, with no source for the claim itself.
These labels describe origin, not correctness: citations and verification chips remain separate evidence.
A singular repulsive power tail is stable
Example
Fix and . Define This is an even, Borel-measurable stable power-tempered pair potential. It has an unbounded repulsive core and a nonzero algebraic tail.
Facts & Assumptions
Given: The Euclidean norm and model-class definitions of Stable power-tempered pair-potential model, , and .
Stable power-tempered pair-potential model: stability means a uniform lower bound , and power tempering is the displayed two-sided absolute tail bound.
Real powers for positive bases, with the zero-base positive-exponent convention defines for and real ; Continuity and derivatives of positive-base real powers gives continuity in the positive base.
Verification
From the coordinate formula in [F1], is continuous: each coordinate square is continuous by , and for , , since, if , , with the other case symmetric. Thus the square-root composition is continuous, including at . On , the function is therefore continuous by [F2]. The complement of is Borel and is closed, so the piecewise function is Borel; it is even because . For it satisfies the tail bound with and .
Every pair term is nonnegative or . Thus every finite pair sum satisfies , so the stability constant is . This proves the claimed model-class membership.
