How statement and proof provenance work
The first chip identifies the source of the statement or construction; the second identifies the source of its local proof or verification.
- Literature-sourced: the exact statement appears in a cited source; only wording and notation differ.
- AI-adapted: a semantically identical restatement of literature-sourced material, modulo indexing, notation, and boundary cases adopted by the library.
- AI-generated: a genuinely novel statement formulated by AI, with no source for the claim itself.
These labels describe origin, not correctness: citations and verification chips remain separate evidence.
Damped Cattaneo Fourier mode
Example
Choose and an integer . Set and assume . Let with and
On , let be the first standard basis vector of and define
This is a nonzero, smooth, spatially periodic solution for every of the linear Cattaneo subsystem
Under the conventional SI interpretation of [F1], is measured in m, in m, in s, and in K; the units of are those stated in [F1]. These unit labels do not assert a material realization.
For , the proxy field remains positive, and its oscillation envelope decays as . The physical-temperature interpretation is limited to the interval where .
Facts & Assumptions
Given: The positive parameters, integer , wave number , strict underdamping condition, and real amplitude with in the Example.
Fixed-coefficient Cattaneo entropy and propagation defines the fixed-coefficient Cattaneo system and its effective entropy and quadratic Lyapunov identities. The current carrier is draft; the explicit mode below is checked directly against the displayed PDE.
Verification
The strict inequality makes , and solves , since are the roots of .
Differentiating in gives , so . Also , where step 1.1 supplies the second equality and . Thus both PDE hold.
The fields are smooth and periodic because and is smooth; makes the mode nonzero. For , , so . The mode's amplitude decays with the displayed exponential envelope. The entropy-production and Lyapunov identities are the exact identities of [F1], applied to this verified solution.
