How statement and proof provenance work
The first chip identifies the source of the statement or construction; the second identifies the source of its local proof or verification.
- Literature-sourced: the exact statement appears in a cited source; only wording and notation differ.
- AI-adapted: a semantically identical restatement of literature-sourced material, modulo indexing, notation, and boundary cases adopted by the library.
- AI-generated: a genuinely novel statement formulated by AI, with no source for the claim itself.
These labels describe origin, not correctness: citations and verification chips remain separate evidence.

Facts & Assumptions
Given: A smooth two-parameter family of commuting field variations and a chosen first-variation decomposition.
The decomposition is , and . Covariant presymplectic current
The two variations are parameter derivatives on a smooth family, so and . Covariant field families and variations
Proof
Given: As in [A1]–[A2].
Differentiate [A1] in direction with input held fixed, and in direction with input held fixed. The total derivatives of the Euler terms are respectively and by the definition of in [A1]. Subtract the second differentiated identity from the first. The second-variation terms cancel by [A2], and the left-hand sides cancel by commutation of mixed derivatives. Since , the remaining identity is
Rearranging step 1.1 gives , with the stated sign fixed by the Iyer–Wald ordering in [A1].
