How statement and proof provenance work
The first chip identifies the source of the statement or construction; the second identifies the source of its local proof or verification.
- Literature-sourced: the exact statement appears in a cited source; only wording and notation differ.
- AI-adapted: a semantically identical restatement of literature-sourced material, modulo indexing, notation, and boundary cases adopted by the library.
- AI-generated: a genuinely novel statement formulated by AI, with no source for the claim itself.
These labels describe origin, not correctness: citations and verification chips remain separate evidence.
Exact regulated gauge and infinitesimal Ward identities
Statement
Assume the finite-graph model of Exact compact U(1) rotor plus finite CAR data and the Axiom of Choice. Let be a normalized vector. A bounded operator has gauge charge when Then whenever , and any finite product of bounded gauge-charge eigenoperators has zero expectation when the sum of its charge vectors is nonzero.
For each , if maps into itself and extends to a bounded operator, then The same assertions apply to : the finite-regulator time evolution preserves the gauge charge and the domains . These are exact operator identities for the stated regulator; no trace or path-integral identity and no continuum Ward–Takahashi statement is asserted.
Facts & Assumptions
Given: The finite-graph gauge representation, , the self-adjoint gauge generators, and the Axiom of Choice.
The Axiom of Choice applies to every family of nonempty sets. The Axiom of Choice
Gauss operators, gauge group and nonempty physical projection: is strongly continuous, is its fixed subspace, and the joint Fourier/occupation basis diagonalizes every with integer eigenvalues.
Global unitary dynamics in the Gauss sector: under the Axiom of Choice, is a strongly continuous unitary group that commutes with every and preserves .
Proof
Given: [A1], [F1], [F2], and a normalized .
Physicality gives for every . If has charge , then If , choose a vertex with and set , with all other components zero. The phase is , forcing .
For and , self-adjointness of gives If the commutator is initially defined on , its bounded extension has the same value on these vectors.
Fix and define the joint character projection Since the joint basis diagonalizes the integer , is the orthogonal projection onto the joint eigenspace with eigenvalue vector . The unitary commutes with every by [F2], hence with every . The exact domain is commutation and unitarity therefore show that preserves and commutes there with .
A product of charge eigenoperators with charges transforms with charge , by inserting between adjacent factors. Applying step 1.1 to that product proves the finite-product selection rule.
Gauge covariance of follows from commuting through the transformation law of . Unitary conjugation preserves boundedness, and the domain relation in step 1.3 carries any invariance and bounded commutator of to . The selection and infinitesimal identities already proved thus apply at every time.
