How statement and proof provenance work
The first chip identifies the source of the statement or construction; the second identifies the source of its local proof or verification.
- Literature-sourced: the exact statement appears in a cited source; only wording and notation differ.
- AI-adapted: a semantically identical restatement of literature-sourced material, modulo indexing, notation, and boundary cases adopted by the library.
- AI-generated: a genuinely novel statement formulated by AI, with no source for the claim itself.
These labels describe origin, not correctness: citations and verification chips remain separate evidence.

Statement
Assume the exact finite-graph model and let . Set and let and its orientation signs be as in Region charge equals boundary electric flux. On , suppose a bounded operator preserves and, for every boundary link , maps into itself and satisfies for every . Then for every vector in that physical domain. Consequently, a charge-changing operator with for a fixed cannot both preserve the physical sector and commute with the boundary electric operators while acting nontrivially on any such physical vector.
There is also the following conditional continuum statement; it does not assert that a continuum representation exists. Let be a common invariant dense domain in a Hilbert space, and let and be linear assignments from real-valued test functions to operators . For a real vector test function set . Assume the assignments satisfy on for a fixed , and let be compact. Suppose is bounded, maps into itself, and satisfies for every whenever is disjoint from . For each integer , choose a real-valued equal to on a neighborhood of and with disjoint from , and put . Assume there is an operator such that, for every , both and as integer . Then on . A bounded charge-changing operator satisfying for on must therefore be the zero operator. These continuum conclusions are conditional on the displayed domain, locality, convergence and commutator-passage assumptions.
Facts & Assumptions
Given: The finite-graph identity in Region charge equals boundary electric flux and, separately for the continuum clause, all conditional operator-distribution, domain, locality and convergence hypotheses stated above.
Region charge equals boundary electric flux: for the conditional finite-graph model, the region number satisfies for every .
Proof
Given: [F1], the finite-graph hypotheses, and the separate continuum hypotheses in the Statement.
Write . The operator in the Statement is exactly the region number of [F1], so for every .
For the continuum clause, is disjoint from , so the assumed locality gives on . The smeared Gauss identity therefore yields for every .
If is physical and lies in each boundary domain, sector preservation makes physical, while commutation with each boundary makes lie in those same domains and gives Thus . If also with , then for every physical in the stated domain; this is incompatible with a nontrivial charge-changing action there.
For , take the stated limits in step 1.2: , where the final equality uses boundedness of and . Hence on the dense domain. If also with , then on dense ; boundedness extends to the whole Hilbert space.
