How statement and proof provenance work
The first chip identifies the source of the statement or construction; the second identifies the source of its local proof or verification.
- Literature-sourced: the exact statement appears in a cited source; only wording and notation differ.
- AI-adapted: a semantically identical restatement of literature-sourced material, modulo indexing, notation, and boundary cases adopted by the library.
- AI-generated: a genuinely novel statement formulated by AI, with no source for the claim itself.
These labels describe origin, not correctness: citations and verification chips remain separate evidence.
Gauge invariance of hypermultiplet mass and adjoint couplings
Pure algebra over the even chiral coefficient ring; no physical model, quantum measure or empirical premise is used.
Statement
Let be the ring of even smooth chiral superfields on the specified flat superspace, with coefficients in the finite-dimensional supercommutative complex algebra of the superspace definition. Thus for ; its even elements commute. Fix an integer , identify a specified based complex vector space with and its dual with row vectors, and take , and . Suppose an invertible even chiral matrix acts by the explicitly supplied substitutions
Then the chiral polynomials and are invariant. In particular is invariant for every constant . Assigning the formal degrees makes this sum homogeneous of degree three. These are algebraic claims about the supplied action; they require no physical model or asserted supersymmetry realization. For the application , the same conclusion holds whenever that represented adjoint field has the stated conjugation law.

Facts & Assumptions
Given: The based finite-dimensional space, even chiral fields, invertible matrix and three substitution laws in the Lemma.
Four-dimensional chiral superfield on flat superspace: smooth even chiral superfields satisfy on their common classical coefficient-function domain.
Four-dimensional superspace Grassmann algebra and Berezin integration: homogeneous coefficients satisfy the supercommutative sign rule and the odd derivatives satisfy the graded Leibniz rule; in particular even coefficients commute.
Proof
By [F1] and [F2], sums and products of even chiral fields are even and chiral, so they form a commutative ring. From , differentiating by gives since is even and chiral; multiplying by shows its inverse is also chiral. Thus every displayed substitution is defined in the stated ring.
Associativity and the dual inverse law give . The same calculation with the middle endomorphism gives . Both contractions are even chiral scalar fields by step 1.1.
The constant linear combination is invariant by step 2.1. Its cubic term has formal degree and its mass term degree . Substituting any represented adjoint field obeying the given conjugation law changes none of this algebra.
