How statement and proof provenance work
The first chip identifies the source of the statement or construction; the second identifies the source of its local proof or verification.
- Literature-sourced: the exact statement appears in a cited source; only wording and notation differ.
- AI-adapted: a semantically identical restatement of literature-sourced material, modulo indexing, notation, and boundary cases adopted by the library.
- AI-generated: a genuinely novel statement formulated by AI, with no source for the claim itself.
These labels describe origin, not correctness: citations and verification chips remain separate evidence.
Positive rescaling of an upper-strip W*-KMS flow
Statement
Assume the Axiom of Choice. Let be a complex Hilbert space and let be a nonzero unital -subalgebra with , where is the bounded-operator algebra and is its commutant. Let be a normal state, meaning a bounded positive linear functional with that preserves suprema of bounded increasing nets of positive elements. Let be a one-parameter group of bijective unital -automorphisms of , with dimensionless parameter , such that is continuous for every and every normal linear functional on (an element of the predual). Suppose that for some dimensionless , for every there is a bounded continuous function on , holomorphic inside, with This is the upper-strip convention of the preceding von Neumann KMS definition. For any scalar , set for . Then is again a point-ultraweakly continuous one-parameter group, and satisfies the same upper-strip boundary condition for on the strip of width .

Facts & Assumptions
Given: The Axiom of Choice, the von Neumann algebra, normal state, point-ultraweak group, upper-strip boundary functions, and from the Statement.
The Axiom of Choice is assumed as in The Axiom of Choice.
The preceding upper-strip KMS definition requires a bounded continuous strip function with lower boundary and upper boundary for every ; its parameter and strip width are dimensionless. Upper-strip KMS condition for von Neumann algebras
Proof
Proof technique: Reparameterize the existing strip functions by the positive linear map .
Given: [A1], [F1], , , , , and .
The rescaled maps satisfy and . For each and normal linear functional , the map is continuous because it is the composition of the continuous map with . Thus is a point-ultraweakly continuous one-parameter group.
For each , choose the strip function supplied by [F1] and define . Since , the map sends the closed strip of width bijectively to and its interior to the interior. Therefore is bounded and continuous on the closed rescaled strip and holomorphic inside.
For real , the boundaries are and . These are precisely the required upper-strip boundary values at width .
