How statement and proof provenance work
The first chip identifies the source of the statement or construction; the second identifies the source of its local proof or verification.
- Literature-sourced: the exact statement appears in a cited source; only wording and notation differ.
- AI-adapted: a semantically identical restatement of literature-sourced material, modulo indexing, notation, and boundary cases adopted by the library.
- AI-generated: a genuinely novel statement formulated by AI, with no source for the claim itself.
These labels describe origin, not correctness: citations and verification chips remain separate evidence.
First-law energy balance for closed process records
Closed nonrelativistic macroscopic process records with equilibrium endpoints, fixed material constitution, and zero change in center-of-mass kinetic energy and separately tracked external-field potential energy, all booked in the fixed Galilean chart selected by the process model.
Postulate
For every admitted with equilibrium endpoints , fixed material constitution, zero change in center-of-mass kinetic energy, and zero change in separately tracked external-field potential energy in the fixed chart selected by the process model, the adopted model balance is where is the dimensioned energy-coordinate map of Equilibrium state domains.
Here the internal-energy coordinate is evaluated in the center-of-mass rest frame as in Galilean inertial charts and the center-of-mass rest frame, while and are the protocol transfers defined by Thermodynamic process records and transfer conventions, in joules as in SI quantities and unit conventions. The sign convention is positive into the system and positive for work done on it. If is adiabatic, no thermal energy crosses its selected outer boundary throughout the record, so for every and hence ; the same adopted balance gives .
This equation is an adopted physical postulate of the stated framework. It is not deduced here from a mechanical model or from experimental observations. Records with matter exchange or nonzero changes in omitted kinetic or external-field energy require a separately specified balance and are outside this item.
