How statement and proof provenance work
The first chip identifies the source of the statement or construction; the second identifies the source of its local proof or verification.
- Literature-sourced: the exact statement appears in a cited source; only wording and notation differ.
- AI-adapted: a semantically identical restatement of literature-sourced material, modulo indexing, notation, and boundary cases adopted by the library.
- AI-generated: a genuinely novel statement formulated by AI, with no source for the claim itself.
These labels describe origin, not correctness: citations and verification chips remain separate evidence.

Facts & Assumptions
Given: A finite chain length , , real couplings , the local Pauli matrices, adjacent swaps and .
Finite spin-half tensor chains: , . The inner product is linear in its first argument and on elementary tensors is , where . The definition in this theorem's Statement therefore gives .
Finite spin matrices: in the ordered basis , the Pauli matrices are they are self-adjoint.
Spin-half swaps realize the Temperley–Lieb algebra at loop weight two: the are self-adjoint and generate the represented loop-weight-two Temperley–Lieb algebra.
Unitary exchange blocks for collective spins: the permutation action is on and the diagonal action is on .
Proof
Since , the factors cancel and On the ordered basis , the operator sends these four vectors respectively to : for the middle two, the Pauli sum is and . This is exactly the swap, so . Rearranging gives , and substituting gives . This proves the bond identity including its normalization.
Each is self-adjoint by [F3], is self-adjoint, and every is real; hence their finite real linear combination is self-adjoint. By [F3] each lies in the represented Temperley–Lieb algebra, so the displayed expression for is an element of that algebra's image.
An adjacent swap commutes with the diagonal action for every : on an elementary tensor, swapping the two entries after applying to each gives the same tensor as applying after the swap. Thus and commute with that action. By [F4], the decomposition places the permutation operators on and the collective unitary action on ; therefore the formula for acts on and as identity on . When there are no bonds and all displayed sums are zero.
Remarks
With the usual SI interpretation, has units of joule-seconds, has units of joule-seconds, and has units of energy; each ratio in the bond identity is dimensionless and has units of energy. These unit labels do not assert a measured coupling or a material realization.
For , the singlet has and the triplet has , so the two eigenvalues of the single bond term are respectively and .
