How statement and proof provenance work

The first chip identifies the source of the statement or construction; the second identifies the source of its local proof or verification.

  • Literature-sourced: the exact statement appears in a cited source; only wording and notation differ.
  • AI-adapted: a semantically identical restatement of literature-sourced material, modulo indexing, notation, and boundary cases adopted by the library.
  • AI-generated: a genuinely novel statement formulated by AI, with no source for the claim itself.

These labels describe origin, not correctness: citations and verification chips remain separate evidence.

Definition

Inputs: The periodic grid and relative speeds of Periodic one-dimensional moving grid, cell averages uˉin∈R, a constant physical speed a, face velocities wi+1/2n, Δt>0, and Δξ>0.

Instructions:

  1. Without modifying the input mesh or cell averages, compute trial face positions xi+1/2n+1=xi+1/2n+Δt wi+1/2n and trial Jacobians Jin+1=(xi+1/2n+1−xi−1/2n+1)/Δξ.

  2. If any Jin+1≤0, discard the trial data and return the status mesh_crossing and no updated state, leaving the input mesh and cell averages unchanged.

  3. Otherwise, for every face set ci+1/2n=a−wi+1/2n and F^i+1/2n=(ci+1/2n)+uˉin+(ci+1/2n)−uˉi+1n, with periodic indices and c+=max⁡(c,0), c−=min⁡(c,0).

  4. Accept the trial mesh and return the status success and the unique cell averages defined by Jin+1uˉin+1=Jinuˉin−(Δt/Δξ)(F^i+1/2n−F^i−1/2n).

All state updates occur only after every new cell Jacobian has passed the positivity check.

1 result within one dependency step of this one, each drawn at its shortest distance from it. An arrow runs from a result to what uses it, so the chart reads left to right and ends at this result, which carries a heavier outline. Every node is a link to that result.
