How statement and proof provenance work
The first chip identifies the source of the statement or construction; the second identifies the source of its local proof or verification.
- Literature-sourced: the exact statement appears in a cited source; only wording and notation differ.
- AI-adapted: a semantically identical restatement of literature-sourced material, modulo indexing, notation, and boundary cases adopted by the library.
- AI-generated: a genuinely novel statement formulated by AI, with no source for the claim itself.
These labels describe origin, not correctness: citations and verification chips remain separate evidence.
Finite-budget block and cyclic-coordinate graphical-lasso procedure
Definition
Input an integer , a real symmetric positive-semidefinite matrix , a real , and positive integers . The output is either failure or a matrix . Let be the identity, , for , for , and for , and . Initialize .
For each outer sweep , and within it for each original-coordinate index , use the temporary coordinate order . Form the same reindexing of both matrices, and , for . Set , , and . Initialize . For each of inner sweeps, update coordinates in increasing order: if , return failure; otherwise set
After the inner sweeps, form . Restore original indexing by forming the candidate matrix with for all . Compute a symmetric eigendecomposition of ; if any eigenvalue is nonpositive, return failure. Otherwise set before proceeding to the next original-coordinate index . After all sweeps, return . This bounded truncation of the coupled block and lasso updates makes no convergence or optimizer claim.

Dependency tree · two levels
5 results within two dependency steps of this one, each drawn at its shortest distance from it. An arrow runs from a result to what uses it, so the chart reads left to right and ends at this result, which carries a heavier outline. Every node is a link to that result.
